I've got a Gen Swiss eta movement in bits right now. I'll look on cousins UK now & see if I can get the bits.

Don't suppose you know the parts I require. Just being lazy without doing the research.

A lot of gearing [ratios] would have to be swapped. Too much involved. Getting a working one would be your best bet. It's hard to 'redline' another movement to run faster without issues. .............. oh, by the way, don't forget that that movement will need service more often then the 28k models. Ask a jeweler why. .........'He'll tell you, well it's a hot rod, so it needs more attention !!

Hope this isn't a stupid newbie question but where would you look to buy a new gen ETA ( not an Asian mix up) if you wanted to eventually swap out in a Sub or GMT11 movement

Hi buddy, you'll find one on eBay or a fellow member. However, be warned! People are selling fakes on eBay, keep an eye on the m2m parts section as they do come up for sale there.

Thanks very much, I have an 11 year old submariner I love and wear just about every day doing every activity going. It stopped working 2 years ago so had a £100 service and its been fine since (I hadn't discovered this forum then, nor started building my collection with TD's here) so I am happily learning and preparing for any future problems or mods I might want to do.

After paying loads for service work etc I decided to learn movements myself & now I'm hooked. TBH for the price of a service you could probably slot a new movement in & then you have the old one to practice on. That's how I got started.
