I believe in Live and Let Live.
If someone is so insecure about themselves that they need to publicly announce to the world that they own all these fancy watches and live an extravagant lifestyle, that is between them and their Psychiatrist.
My concern is that some members use the same User Name on Instagram and other Social Media that they use here on the Darkside. We all enjoy an amazing hobby, but in many countries, we need to do this on the down low...we dont want to bring any unnecessary attention to ourselves or this Forum. Bringing the unwanted attention to this Forum can jeopardize the hobby we love, and what bothers me, is that it is being done solely to stroke the personal egos of a few people.
The selfish actions of a few insecure people can have repercussions for us all.
So Live and Let Live, but if you feel the need to tell the world to "look at me, look at me", then please take necessary precautions to not let it be traced to, or in any way involve this forum. A simple Google Search of a User Name brings the world to our doorstep.

Thats why we care. Its one thing to own and wear replicas. Thats what we all do. Acting like they're gen to thousands of people and fooling AD's is another thing.

I fully agree with the fooling AD's part but how in hell can you say Matttheturk DID INFACT try to fool an AD? Ever thought about the fact that he was just wearing a PAM and he took a pic? This doesn't have to say that he went to the AD to show him his rep and go like 'yeah check out this watch what do you think?'

Personally IDGAF what watch I wear when I'm visiting an AD. If I wake up tomorrow morning and think it's a good time to visit my nearby AD and I also decide on wearing a Noob v5 (which I don't own lmfao ) am I the same rep flaunting, AD's fooling guy like him?

Also what should other people be in about knowing anything is rep or gen, the ones that can spot the difference will know it the others most likely won't so fing what? There's TONS (trust me TONS) of people on here that publically state they're passing reps off as gens for various (mostly good) reasons. It's each to his own buddy..

Such a good point! I enjoy this hobby, even though the wife doesn't, so I would hate for some ignorant d$#@ to jeopardize that.

I don't think I would ever walk into an AD with one of my Reps on. In fact, I was in Grand Cayman not too long ago, and I took off my PAM111 when I walked into an AD.

He posted a pic of the pam rep on the AD table next to a gen. He has since deleted the pic after being called out.

Why do we care?
This is a private rep forum where we can talk about what a tosser he is for masquerading like a boss?
Its not like his account is private or showing off in private, to his friends or acquaintances, hes trying to show how big his instagram penis is..

I don't know why people are defending him?
I can't mind my own business when he does it publicly, sorry

If someone can write a script, they can go through his followers and then tag them on his pictures and another picture explaining why it is fake. lol.

+1000. Well said mate. We wear our reps with pride and the least thing we could do would be not flaunting it on social media as gens. I feel sorry for those kind of people. Just my 2 cents.

?? I would never flaunt my watches as gens...period. In fact all my friends and family knows they are reps.

Japp, but everyone else who see you and your watch every single day doesn't :)
Instagram or grocery shop... Not much of a difference...

The only thing I have an issue with is walking in to ad and trying to fool them. Like Matthew90 and his bro did at panerai. To everyone else in the world, online or real life, who cares

Interesting. Matt the turk aka Matthew90 just locked down his Instagram account after all of this. I was looking at it over the last week because I actually like the pics and there were some cool ones of subs with the bead bracelets. I was just in there last night. Now I can't get in.

But you see man, if someone were to ask me I would straight up tell them it is a rep. I'm not trying to fool anyone. I just would rather spend $300 bucks on a great looking watch than shell out $6000.

It's just not worth it trying to explain this hobby. We are accepted NOWHERE but the rep forums. People are ignorant remember that.
