Another one in ebay. Let's report them. This guy clearly knows he's selling a fake pretending to be gen. He claims he had it recently serviced in a pam boutique....

I reported him and sent him a message asking when the watch was serviced. Despite saying it was done at a Beverly Hills Panerai store, he says that he doesn't have the service papers. Lying POS.

Even more so; don't buy any "luxury" watches on eBay. :)

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. If you use PP, there are some good buyer protections in there and deals can be had. It doesn't have the cache of an AD or the 'so bad its good' feeling of a pawn shop deal, but I think people let down their guard with online purchases and don't do their due diligence. Just like this forum and others, you buy the seller first and then peruse their wares.

I may have been speaking in hyperbole, but yes... you are correct.

Its a real problem with Panerai as they are too easy to fake well.
Even an honest ebay seller might be selling on a dud unknowingly.
Only Panerai I dared to buy on ebay had an open caseback El Primero movement which has never been repped!

The other big problem is that Panerai doesn´t give a sht. I used to send Panerai/Richemont emails with links to obvious reps. They didn´t reply and they didn´t pull the listings. Some of them never get pulled because eBay´s response time is variable, but if the manufacturer intercedes and they are in the VERO program (they are, or used to be anyway), ebay will pull listings immediately. Panerai used to even enforce their crown protector design, some may remember the funky weird crown protectors they had on the homages for a while - not anymore.

Hard to get upset about the fakes on ebay when Panerai won´t lift a finger to stop it. I just feel bad for the buyers.

That sucks. You'd think they'd want to protect their brand. Maybe that's why Richemont's sales continue to decline.

Good call on the Primero movement -- I always forget about it! If you want to make your Rolex friends jealous, show them the 40mm titanium PAM 060 chrono:

More balls than a Daytona could ever hope to have haha.

LOL to be fair I know two guys who own Daytonas and they would probably think El Primero was a brand of Tequila!

Mine was a PAM074. I do miss it!

The thing is, Panerai is not directly affected by these sales. A boutique customer, is not necessarily the same as those who go the grey market route (eBay, Jomashop, etc. etc.) So the brand isn't in any true jeopardy.

And another one.... I already reported this.... please report to ebay. Dufus even has the audacity to claim he bought it at a Panerai Boutique.

How come the on one below, the back has a different bridge and says firenze, doesn't look 111 at all...

The idiot in your first link sold a PAM176 for $4200 prior as well...

This is interessting. Agelocer Watch. 100% made in China. 100% Panerai Rep with other brand.
They say, made in switzerland / swiss, but it is a China Clone.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/172496547073?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&var=471341574084&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Strictly speaking, Agelocer is an homage brand. But, the fact that they are misrepresenting themselves, while charging $ 1,400 for a PAM rep under another name, should give everyone pause for concern.

If you go to their online store on AliExpress, you can see the story and a movie about how the company had started in 1932 in Lucerne (Luzern), Switzerland, and see their building as well as workers busy assembling watches. It turns out that nobody has heard of the brand in Lucerne, the building is a photoshopped castle from Belgium (see below photoshopped and original photo), the workers in the movie were stolen from an IWC video and the contact info in Switzerland is for Carl Bucherer. This takes replicating to a whole new level. :atwitsend:

But their prices are no laughing matter. $ 1,400 for a PAM 372 look-alike, $ 606 for a SF look alike and nearly $ 500 for a poor copy of the IWC Pilot.
