It goes off when pulled to "set time" position and turned around some times counter clockwise. clockwise works. set date doesn't work.

It this fixable?

GREAT! Now 2 of the reps I have paid for are GONE and I am left with NONE

Yes it's fixable. But how old is the rep? If it's not too old why not ask the dealer about a replacement or at least serviceing?

Yikes, is the crown:
1. loose
2. or broken? (aka snapped)

If it's loose, get some glue, open the caseback, try slowly to 'move' the stem out of it's place. Then apply some glue to the crown and thread it back onto the stem. Voila!

If it snapped get yourself a new:
1. crown stem
2. glue

and you can put it back together... not sure if the gen crown stem will fit. I heard somewhere that it might... experts on this?

I do not open watches myself, but I watch my watchmaker as he does it :D

Hope this helps.

ok... the crown can be screwed back again and works EVERYTHING fine... but setting time forwards (count clockwise) screws the crown out... like a screw..... it falls out... and then i can screw it back in..

What your looking to do here is to "gum" up the threads at the tip of the winding stem so the crown does not unscrew everytime you try to set the time. Loctite is a liquid (available in different strengths at autoparts or hardware store) witch is applied to the threds before the mating part is attached. If loctite is not available in your area, you can try what I have done, use a little clear fingernail polish or glue. Just be careful, you only need a very small amount right at the tip of the stem. Use too much and you will risk gluing the crown to the case! Good luck to you.

Cheers

NO NEED TO REMOVE MOVEMENT!!

Read on "Edge's guide to modifying your rolex sub" in the stickies of the modding section

All you need is to remove the stem from the body..

for the glue, use something that takes time to 'set' so you will have time to thread it back in.

Dont take out the movement yet! It looks like the crown came off the stem. Remove the stem with some needle nose pliers, and reattach the crown to it. I can see the stem stuck in the watch on the pics. I would let the crown set completely(dry all the way) before I even reinstalled it.

FYI: here's what the stem usually looks like...

Is the crown attached to the stem?
If so, and you glued it some how, let it dry completly, If it were me I would let it sit overnight.
Then reinstall it.

When you reinstall it push it in and GENTLY rotate it so it set fully into place. Once in it should not pull out without pushing the stem release button. It should click twice when pulled out:

1 click for setting date
2nd click for setting time(some movement will hack in this position)
