So this is almost a perfect rep, just a small f###ing spacing "issue" which to 99.99% is not noticeable and yet some of you guys wait for a newer version of this.

Funny that the same people will say they buy reps for fun and not to pass them as gen. Lol of course you don't.

Poor TDs, can't even imagine what kind of people they have to deal with when sending QC pictures.

I know rolexs are scrutinized more than other brands, I understand that. But here's an idea, if someone says is that a Rolex, can I see it? Raise your arm and show them lol, don't take it off and hand it to them, Who does that?

Anyway, have you actually held this rep in your hand or worn it on your wrist? If you put this watch on and look at it like you are checking the time you won't notice the spacing.

And if someone did notice you can tell them that there was a batch of these which had this printing, it's true there were early gens with the kerning issue.

honestly man, I'm not trying to be a dick, but if you are that anal about this tiny little thing then maybe this rep ain't for you.

I understand your feeling man, not trying to say you're wrong. We all have our tolerance level and this is clearly under mine. I understand it's different for you and some people, but I can guarantee you I'll spot the spacing when "looking at it like I'm checking the time".

So yeah, I can confirm, this rep ain't for me. I'll wait for the fixed version.

There are huge differences between OPs GEN vs REP. I was not aware that JF was soooo far off compared to GEN. I have one inbound, it might just become a paperweight due to being so terrible when compared to GEN.

Complaining about that in a QC picture has nothing to do with what you describe. Anyone refusing QC pictures because of this is a dick, this is model-dependant, not piece-dependant, everyone knows that.

Just wondering What's your definition of "huge difference"?

Would you be able to call a person out wearing this? You being hung over, riding a high speed train looking out the window at 100 yards?

The only problem with that is they MAY fix the spacing, but they will likely muck up something else. You know how his game is. Fix one break one, it's the rep factory way lol

Still doesn't change the fact that if everyone buys reps for fun, which 95% will tell you, then why would anyone be bothered by the E being half a millimeter off which is barely noticeable, let alone for ppl who don't give two shits about watches.

Yeh people don't buy that crap, sorry. And to try and refute an obvious glaring omission with "maybe this rep isn't for you" is just utter drivel. I've held the rep in hand next to the gen, it's blatantly obvious. Disregard everything else about rehauts, SEL's, crown guards, etc, you can call it simply from the dial. And no, the fact that Rolex produced maybe a couple with iffy lettering does not make it OK then. That may be fine for you, I'm happy. But when I look at my wrist I really don't want to see dial print that's been put on by someone in the middle of having a fit. Go look at any recent Explorer in an AD, on Instagram, etc and show me the shoddy lettering.

If you want to put money in the hands of the factories for obvious mistakes that's absolutely fine, go for it. They profit regardless. But as a community we exist to drive innovations and to 'better' what the factories produce. Hence why we have V1, V2, etc. If we didn't do this then reps would not be at the level they are at right now, look back 5/10 years and see where we've come from. We get better more accurate reps, factories make more money, etc.

Anyway that's the last I say on the matter. I really do love this rep, and I'm glad you guys enjoy yours. Just for some of us it just isn't quite there yet and hopefully JF (or another factory) will hit the nail on the head.

I disagree. That may be what you want to believe this community is about, but it clearly isn't or 99% of the topics here wouldn't make any sense.

From the pic the hands are different length, numbers & hour markers looks completely different, lugs look different, lume color looks different, typing ( that is discussed before ) REP is missing " stainless steel" between the lugs, REP is missing " Roles Org Design" between the lugs, crown differ, crystal hight & lugs holes differ. Thats just what you spot from the pictures. Im sure even people with little known Rolex knowhow will wonder about this REP.

Yeah but where do you draw the line on what's good for pushing the rep community forward in helping to make better reps and being nitpicky to the point of exhaustion.
You can't fight every battle you know. Sometimes it's got to be good enough yeah?
All reps will have something not perfect and a fair share of gens will too.

Hands are different lengths? I think we may be looking at different pictures mate.
Who is going to look at your watch in the dark and say, man that lume is one shade too blue?

I'm also pretty sure that in other comparison pics the engraving between lugs were present.

No I agree you can't fight every battle and there does need to be a line drawn. But I think personally when you have stuff like this, considering what the factories are putting out, this is child's play.

I'm good friends with a guy that works in the industry. This chap regularly gets together with WatchAnish, people from Hodinkee, etc. He's a well known watch guy. I once handed him a rep (can't remember which) without telling him what it is and he fawned over it for a good 5 minutes. Now this guy handles every kind of gen imaginable. He was utterly floored when I told him it was a rep, he didn't believe me. It was only when I showed him the QC pics he nodded and said ok fine.

I think most of know that the factories are never going to get the movements bang on, especially once you start getting into complications. We are at the mercy of what is out there and if you want complications likelihood is it's going to be faux. However from a purely aesthetic and visual standpoint given the advances in CNC and 3D printing, etc that should be almost spot on. Especially since a lot of the factories now buy the Gen prior to making the rep. Something small like the dial print should be pretty much 100%. The factories make a huge amount of money from reps, seriously. It's a multi million dollar industry.
