No, it is perfectly straight. When I first started taking these macro pics I found that if you are at just the slightest angle and not straight on it will make the cyclops look off. So I am careful with that now. I cannot find a single flaw with this watch. believe me, I have searched for hours with pics of my watch and the gen next to each other on my computer screen just studying them. I am no expert, not anywhere near, and I have looked hard, but come up with nothing to complain about. I honestly wish someone could find something and point it out to me. My feelings will not be hurt. I just have not seen anyone do a comparison next to the gen and point out the flaws. Now in the previous explorer 2 there were a few issues, but they seem to be all worked out with this model. I cannot tell you how many times I look down at my wrist every day in amazement of this watch. and how many complements I have gotten.

I got some info from another member yesterday about the rehaut engraving on the explorer2. I think people are afraid to hurt my feelings because I keep saying how great this watch is. I do think it is great, but my eye is untrained and I would like to have more opinions about what might be off on this watch so that I can get better at this.

After looking at it some more I am wondering are the letters a little "wonky" like some people say? or maybe the letters are not engraved deep enough or with nice crisp edges? That is just what comes to mind as I was looking at it.

Anyway, here are some more pics from just now so you guys can see it better.

Also, what other things are off on this watch?

Thanks for all the help. Enjoy the pics.

Thank you Octagon. this is the explorer II from the noob factory. This is the best version imo. Mine has the 2836 asian.

The hands are exactly as the gen is. Everything is on this watch basically.

It does have the ICHS. The hour hand is supposed to be on the bottom.

Wow, it looks amazing! I noticed on his website he has several versions, may I ask which was the one you ordered? I'm super tempted to get the one listed here

http://asian7750.com/cn/product_show.asp?big_pid=&ps_id=195&P_id=2950&ti=

BTW, this is a super place, the things I have read and seen people share are just awesome!

Edit: Sorry, I just read that it's the noob factory 2836 version but there seems to be two versions on his site. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

rockstardc. There is the asian 2836, swiss 2836 and the 3187 versions. all from the noob factory. The differences are just the movements. and the prices which you can read about all the movements here on the site in the movements section

Hi egroeart.

Unfortunately all the Noob versions are sold out. To me, I'd really like to have a nice (closest to rep looking as possible) version. And as this is my first time buying something without seeing it firsthand, I'm rather worried about how it may turn out. Does the factory in which the watch comes from play a factor?

Because on Tony's site, there are other Explorer II's for sale with stock, I'm just not sure if I should wait for the Noob version.

Thanks again!

definitely wait for the noob version to come out. It is a better version than any other factory. Now, with that said, I am seeing what a few people have commented on in the past year about some things with the noob. But even with these differences it is still much closer to the gen than from other factories. Some said that the bezel font was too fat. On my explorer in this thread which is from the noob factory, there is no difference in the font on my watch from that of the gen. and I kept arguing that the font was perfect on the noob factory version. Believe me. I did some extensive comparisons with my watch and the gen next to each other blown up on the computer, and they were exactly the same. Now, with that said, I just recieved a second explorer II from the noob factory. The only difference is it has the 3187 movement in it which costs about 100 dollars more than the 2836 version. I wanted to try it out, so I bought it since it is in stock. The movement runs flawless, and everything works like it should, but, the font on the bezel is too fat, and not done nearly as neatly and fine as the bezel on my first explorerII which is the one in this thread. So, obviously the noob factory has two different bezels that they use for this model, which is unfortunate. I've come to that conclusion because some people were saying that the font was too big and fat on theirs, and I kept refuting saying that it wasn't, well, I've found out that they are right. So I think it's just a crap shoot of which bezel you will get. The difference is slight, but to me, I notice it, but 99.0% of people that you are going to meet in the real world will never know that it's just slightly different. It looks good still. It was my fault for not inspecting the qc pics close enough. If I would have seen that I would have asked for another with the right font on the bezel, So that's all you really have to do when buying. Tell the TD you want the one with the right font on it, and even show a pic if you would like. You can use my pics in this thread on mine that is right to send if you would like. Then look closely at your qc pics to make sure it's the right bezel font. If it doesn't matter to you don't worry about it. Yes, it bothers me a little bit that the font is wrong, but I'm fine with it and will keep this one becasue like I said, nobody will ever notice really.

My dad now has my first explorer II, the one posted in this thread. I let him wear it at christmas, and then when I ordered my new one he bought the old one off of me, so he has the one with the good bezel now. lol.

With that said, I would not spend the extra 100 dollars for the 3187 version that is available now. I would wait for the 2836 to come out. The 2836 is just as good of a movement. The only difference that I notice is that the rotor in the 3187 is nearly silent. but as far as performace, they both have performed the same. I hope some of this helps. And hopefully within the next month or so the new version of the explorerII with 2836 will be out again.

Super explanation, I'll wait for the noob version with the right font. Thanks so much for that detailed explanation, truly appreciate it.

With that said, I guess I'll have to keep myself occupied with hunting for a Submariner No Date first. Thanks again!
