Gomez is just cold blood, the man shoots and kills...

Germany for the cup, they want it, they will get it.

I was expecting big things for the orange, too bad that they are out...

I predicted Germany from the start. Having watched their openening two games, I'm now more convinced than ever.

Then again, football has a habit of throwing up some surprises.

Either way.....really enjoying the competition so far.

Germany look the bollocks.
I am not looking forward to playing the crauts on sunday- have mercy!
Holland picked it up a lot, but seem to have problems getting full value of a star team.
The plot thickens, this group is still open, besides that germany is on to the next round already.

if Gomez would play that way more often, he would be one of the best players in the world, however it seems he isn't motivated enough sometimes.

The Question is: can we beat Spain in a final ?
I'm not sure.

One more thing.....Robben was a disgrace tonight. The English commentator summed it up well imo, 'There's no I in TEAM'.

Why does this guy think everything should revolve around him. His reaction to the substitution was disrepctful and a middle finger to his country. As talented as he might be, I've rarely seen such a selfish player on or off the pitch.

Oh dear, Torres has remembered where the goal is. That's bad news for any potential opponents......England maybe.

He couldn't hit a camels arse with a wok for Chelsea last season. Once this guy gets his confidence back and starts scoring again (which he has) there is no finer striker in the world imo.

Topping group D must be a priority for all teams involved.

Spain did great against Ireland last night.

I know Ireland is not a Top team but Spain found their game and Torres found the goal like Badwing said above...

Anyway I want to share an image from the last match Spain vs Italy...

Here's Iniesta, one of the greatest players in the world, but so underrated!!

Not that thrilled to be honest Pap. Obviously, I'm happy with the win but the performance was ugly and doesn't instill me with confidence for the remainder of the tournament.

Ukraine will be a tough test but, on the plus side, we have Rooney back from suspension. I don't like him on a personal level but football wise he's world class and can make a difference.

Even so, in view of the France result and the fact that Sweden are now out, the best we can hope for is second place.

That means Spain in the QF's.

Early flight for England.

I agree with you about the performance, happy England got the win but they made it much harder than it needed to be, and as a result made a very average Sweden team look better then they actually are.

In regards to the Rooney part, I think he gets a hard time because he is Man United's and England's key player, and gets a lot of unwanted attention in the media. I'm assuming you don't know him on a personal level so surely its fair to give the him benefit of the doubt? Everytime I have seen Rooney play he gives 101%, and fights for the team, just for that he gets my respect.

If England are to get anywhere in this tournament it will be because of Rooney, let's hope he has a good first game against Ukraine! :D

I'm enjoying this competition immensely. It's strange though how you look out for your RWI brothers. Obviously my allegiance is with England, but I've also been roaring for Denmark (trk), Greece (Pap) and Germany (co-ax) amongst others.

If we meet later in the tournament though guys, that love will turn to hate! :)

Great competion so far. All groups are wide open and anything can change. You only have to look at Group A tonight. I don't think anyone would have predicted that outcome.

So...... Ronaldo showed up, the Seleçao Ronaldo and the Real Madrid Ronaldo were one in the same today- the two separate beings would be proud of each other. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to a Netherlands team full of stars and egos whom I thought would have won the group of death. According to ESPN they have never lost the three group stage games, so surprised.
We rooted for Germany to beat Denmark and they did to win the group helping Portugal advance. Now onto czech republic on Thursday!!

As always, futebol is an amazing sport full of surprises, bring it on. Força Portugal!
