This method SO did not work for me. The files didn't seem to do anything to the case. It would have taken me 5 years to hollow out the holes. How did you do this??

I just rotated the files in both directions, rather than going back and forth.
It took about 10 mns a lug so 40 mns a case.
Next time I'll do that mod I'll take a video and post it here.

Hi ... could you tell us what are the tools you used ?

Regular drill, and 1.20, 1.25 HSS drill bit and a little bit of oil, and also, a steady hand and start from slow, horizontal and start. At first I broke few bit, and I control my speed down it drill all the holes in 2 minutes.

I am able to hand drill with a power drill, but I do it progressively from 1.0mm to 1.3mm.

I did the same thing today. I got a micro drill set from Amazon. Word of advice, you will break the bits so buy multiples. Be careful because I got some broken pieces stuck in the holes and they can be a bitch to get out. In the end it worked though. BTW, I used my power screwdriver and not a high speed drill. Also used some oil to keep the bit lubricated. Starting with something less than 1mm is probably a good idea. Then work up from there.

I suppose you all drilled "vintage" cases with pre-drilled lugs ... true of false ?

Yes, it is almost impossible to drill by yourself without professional machine. At lease not battery power drill

It IS possible with dremel and a drill-stand ... check the third tuto in my signature
You just need to mark the lugs and punch them before drilling, use a bunch of cutting oil and ... avoid coffee cause you need steady hands

It's quite easy in fact ... you just need to ruin (not mandatory) 1 or 2 cheap cases while training then you're ready for the real stuff.
But that's definitely not a method for modders ... just good if you drill a few watches a year.
I did only 1 every two months since I first tried : 1 case not very good (cant receive a steel bracelet, just leather) / 1 almost good / 1 good (the one on my tuto)

Mine was a holes case like any cartel. So not nearly as difficult as starting from scratch. Next time I'll find some titanium bits for sure. Although, I'm not sure they're any less brittle.
