Gazumi,
Then the question is should one ask Hont to oil up the watch and check out the movement and let him charge you a bit extra for this service?? now ofcourse will he actually do it??
Seems like a sound investment in my mind
He is not a watchsmith. Out of all the watches I've owned, the only few I've had problems with are due a screw that worked itself loose inside during shipment, or the watch just arrived DOA. Now, the dealer assured me that it worked perfectly when it was shipped, maybe the package was dropped from a high place during shipment, who knows. He took full responsibility and offered to fix and replace. What I'm trying to say is none of the watches I've owned has had problems due to lack of oil or servicing or whatever.
One thing the internet does is enable people to complain freely, and people who have issues will complain, rightly so, and it's easy to think that all relica watches will have problems. But the majority of the people who have not had problems will not go out of their way to say that they've never had problems. While I was researching a used Porsche Boxster on the internet, it appears like their engines are always blowing up, yet I know quite a few Boxster owners who have never had this problem.
So just buy your watch and be happy with it. Save the money you would have spent for the extra service and use it to fix the watch if it breaks. Who knows, amybe you would have gotten bored of it by then and just buy something new and different. Maybe you'll never need to spend it. I think Time4Direct offers servicing before the watch is shipped though.
