Guys,

I was wondering if any of the stores offer an extra QC for a small fee?

Like could you pay a little extra and before they send it they would open the watch up and really check it and maybe give it some oil and etc.

just curious if anybody does that

thx

QC is difficult when the watch is being drop-shipped. Some sellers, like BKLM1234, QCs every watch sent out.

I guess thats true. Just seems that giving them an extra $20 for them to open it up and really look at it and oil it up, would be good business for them and you. My reasoning for that statement is that you would think most likely the movement wont die after a few days like it happens to so many, especiall with A7750. Thus they save on the hassle of having it sent back to china etc etc etc..

Dropship .... where the seller never sees your watch. They simply take your order and get their wholesaler to send you the item.

Precious Time does QC, his price is a bid more than Hont. Hont also does QC and ships from China, Precious time ships from UK.

Hont does not dropship. He will send you pictures of the watch if requested but it will obviously add time to your order.

Gazumi,

Then the question is should one ask Hont to oil up the watch and check out the movement and let him charge you a bit extra for this service?? now ofcourse will he actually do it??
Seems like a sound investment in my mind

You want a watchsmith to do this. And to my knowledge most (if not all) of our dealers are not a watchsmith.

$75-$100. Oiling a watch is detailed intricate work. You need the right tools, oils and knowledge to do this.

We uncovered how much work it takes to oil your watch and the cost

He is not a watchsmith. Out of all the watches I've owned, the only few I've had problems with are due a screw that worked itself loose inside during shipment, or the watch just arrived DOA. Now, the dealer assured me that it worked perfectly when it was shipped, maybe the package was dropped from a high place during shipment, who knows. He took full responsibility and offered to fix and replace. What I'm trying to say is none of the watches I've owned has had problems due to lack of oil or servicing or whatever.

One thing the internet does is enable people to complain freely, and people who have issues will complain, rightly so, and it's easy to think that all relica watches will have problems. But the majority of the people who have not had problems will not go out of their way to say that they've never had problems. While I was researching a used Porsche Boxster on the internet, it appears like their engines are always blowing up, yet I know quite a few Boxster owners who have never had this problem.

So just buy your watch and be happy with it. Save the money you would have spent for the extra service and use it to fix the watch if it breaks. Who knows, amybe you would have gotten bored of it by then and just buy something new and different. Maybe you'll never need to spend it. I think Time4Direct offers servicing before the watch is shipped though.
