I'd like to make a suggestion for the guide...

I think in the picture or in the comments, all reps should have a classification. For example I was looking to buy the artkos 092 that is listed on this forum for sale from a member....

But looking at the guide, I get "The replica has a quite good quality."

This doesn't tell me how the forum and the members classifies this piece. super/first class/medium/ or "RUN AWAY!"

Is this something we all can help go through and make each description consistant with each other?

Thanks.

Hi tranz

As you can read in the original thread about Evaluation pre-PAM GUIDE
http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/evaluation-pam-replicas-100533

I have made a classification in three levels:
SUPER REPS – reps very close to the gen in materials, external look (even in side by side comparison), and reliable
FIRST CLASS REPS- reps very close to the gen and reliable, but with some difference in materials, functions… or little differences in external look or colours only remarkable in side by side comparisons.
BAD-LOW GRADE REPS- reps with evident differences with the gen, different materials, functions, colours, very different movement with a display caseback. In general all replicas which have not any good version and are not at all recommendable to buy them.
I will consider the rest of non classified replicas as GOOD OR MEDIUM GRADE REPS

Therefore, all the reps without classification are good o medium grade rep, but usually I recommend (even in the Guide) other replicas to buy when we are considering such a type of replicas.

I'm going to include above mentioned info in the PAM GUIDE because, as I can see by your comments, it is necessary and I was forgotten it.

Maybe, there is too a translation problem:
When I said "quite good" I mean that the replica is not good completely or i is simply good.
Perhaps would be better "rather good" to indicate this level of quality ??. Please inform me about that. I don't mean "very good" just simply good or almost good

Of course it would be better to have a classification of all reps and all models but it is almost impossible.
I will try with the help of the PCTeam to have a correct evaluation of all Super reps and First Class rep with percentage of votes included, like we have just made with the PAM 411-420 Boutiques Special Editions from H maker.

We have already the LOW grade replicas identified and evaluated.

Really the medium field between good and medium grade is not completely defined but is the less important IMO, and it can wait leaving space and time for other more important evaluations. We will try something when all the rest will be finished.

You cannot imagine the job to put together all info for every replica studied in the PAM Guide. And now the updating with all new introductions and versions, because makers, as you know, have a hard work and competition nowadays.

Many thanks for your interest and suggests, we need this type of help, opinions and cooperation.
Regards
ALE

Very nice guide. Except a few things need correcting regarding your PAM 36 portion.

There are in fact "L Swiss L" dials that were made for the PAM 36.

Well known paneristi collectors have vouched that they are real

http://www.network54.com/Forum/353391/thread/1121775997/Trivia-+PAM36+experts

Also, PAM 40 had a few "L Swiss L" dials as well.

More well known 'risti chiming in here

Oh, and I've seen a 36 L dial myself...

cheers

Hi tech
Many thanks for your kind words and your suggestion.

Concerning Luminove dials in PAM 036 and 040: yes there are some items fitted with L swiss l dials. But the opinion of most of the experts is that there were watches carried to be serviced, and SADLY (for the owner) the AD has changed the dial for some reasons (no having stock of Tritium of course)
This is the more authorized opinion, as far as I know, and due to that I have included that in my GUIDE.
Read:
http://quicklook.watchprosite.com/show-nblog.post/ti-409776/

If you read carefully your links all posters agree with the change theory. Just a member called Cliff (??) says vaguely that there are a lot of 040 with Luminova dial. Without any explanation of the matter.
OMG! a lot of PAM 040 !! and there are a total max of 200 produced !!!

Many thanks for your suggestion, comments like yours will make the GUIDE greater, but at this moment I consider more correct leave the version of the GUIDE like that. Unless we have more different inputs.

For the noobs here, the member "ClifW" refers to Cliff Watkins...a well known collector amongst the old 'risti and he is an authority on them. He mentions that one had gone for sale a few months back on the collectors corner. It was "right as rain"....vernacular/american slang for - "correct".

Your guide states that there are "wrongly marked" L dials and I am here to correct that statement. You even admit that there are service dials out there.

Whether right or wrong, agree or disagree, there ARE OEM L Swiss L dials out in the wild. I think your guide should be changed as to not confuse the membership here. "L Swiss L" dials do exist on the 36 and 40.

cheers

Hi tech

I know from this moment that the so-called Cliff is the famous Cliff Watkins. Therefore from noob to expert in just a minute !! … LOL

Let’s go to get a solution.

Since the PAM GUIDE is NOT MY PAM GUIDE (as you say), it is just the GUIDE of RWI Pam Section. And I’m asking all people for participating, in order to complete and improve the simple skeleton which was the first GUIDE started by myself, I should consider all opinions and yours included.

Therefore I will indicate in the GUIDE the possibility of having PAM 036 and 040 with Luminova dial due to have been produced with this Luminor dial or through a change in a unfortunate official service. In this way we are indicating the two possibilities, no problem and all everybody happy.

Many thanks for your kind cooperation to the GUIDE, and your insistence keeping your theory. I will say that in the GUIDE.

Ola Ale,

Yes, I just wanted to get that tiny part added and thank you for that as I think it makes the guide that much more informative. CliffW's posts on 'risti and VP were always authoritative, informational and sometimes comical...I miss his postings.

Your guide is really just an outstanding source of information on OP.

When can we see the "coffee table" book version printed on heavy photo stock paper and selling for $400+ on Amazon?

I'd buy one.

gracias, obrigado, cheers mate

Unfortunately it is not possible the Book printed version, because the GUIDE is being updated everyday several times with all the imputst from members, PCTeam, dealers catalogues and new releases, reviews, comparisons and info from other forums...

Besides, there are always members willing to add tiny parts to the GUIDE.... LOL

SEE the new changes in the GUIDE for 036 and 040
