I fail to see why OP is mad... "Dealer has really got this wrong!!" tells me OP have no clue as to whether that site is ok or not. Then he's mad because people tell the truth and wonder why he posted in the first place... 60 year old and still haven't learned to do his homework like the rest of us have....
Homework as in - study, read threads, learn the business and stay away from scam sites. No need to even start threads about them. We have our TD's. Period.
This is a red herring. I would have thought it was patently obvious that I thought the dealer was dodgy! I actually wouldn't have objected to the replies at all, but for the scolding, and telling me how naughty I was.
Nor can I see what I did wrong?? Surely one 'learns' by making errors, like a child does, when he learns the difference between hot and cold, perhaps by burning himself.
How did this august company arrive at a list of trusted dealers? Ah, I suppose a dealer came along and said 'You can trust me', and as a result, went on the list. I can even see that mistakes were mad, and trusted dealers have been removed from the list, but surely not, they were trusted!!
Get real gentlemen. One has to experience the bad to learn which is good. I've been buying replicas for nearly 20 years, ones which still serve me well, and which were purchased before the advent of proper web sites. I learned one thing. The most important thing..... Buy the seller before his goods. I can't remember being caught once, and I didn't have the benefit of RWI. This site is here to advise and inform, and that's as it should be, but if anybody cares not to be advised or informed, does that make him a bad person?? I think not, just ill advised - unless that person knows what he is about. And I do. I can tell immediately the difference between a V7750, and a Chinese HW copy of a Venus movement, with a single glance, and you'd be surprise just how much more I know too. I could be useful in the forums, because I do know what I'm talking about, and could help others, especially with 'gen' watches and associated problems. Give me a chance, and don't start firing bullets at me. I'm more than happy to fire back.
