Be amazing to see a Clean V2 vs Clean V3 side-by-side comparison if anyone has both watches or knows of one.

CF 116500LN V3 just in

Here are some side-by-side comparisons with a BTF V2.

My thoughts: I still don't like the CF crystal. BTF crystal may not be in-line with gen but I don't care. The pushers on the CF seem a bit longer than BTF. The crown on the CF is sharper than BTF but doesn't operate as smoothly. Insert of CF seems to be a bit brighter than BTF. And lastly, the metal color of BTF seems to be more gold and CF seems to be more white. The bigger hole on the CF coronet does not bother me. These are just my thoughts, so take them with a grain of salt.

Pics: BTF on the left when both watches are in the pic.

Thanks a lot for this great comparison. Its good someone finally noticed tone difference on steel. BTF tone looked more gen-like to me compared to whiter CF.

I'm glad it's not just me who noticed this. I probably wouldn't have noticed unless I had them both next to each other.

Sono contento che non sono solo io ad averlo notato. Probabilmente non me ne sarei accorto se non li avessi avuti entrambi uno accanto all'altro.
Crystal is better in bf(maybe with ar?) But I think that the rings grey on the sundials are very very shiny... more than gen and cf

Oh my god. This is never ending. Btf can not beat clean if they don’t fix the shiny subdials.

Why should it have an 'ending'. The CF is not perfect, there will never be a consensus, and nor should there have to be.

There are Daytona's with shiny sub dials - Period. I have no idea what V or what year but they exist. I posted a video of one a few pages back. Just run a google image search and you'll find a bunch more. The CF sub dials are too warm and flat in sunlight. On the gen they are white gold, just like the hands - and they should not appear to be a different colour as they do on CF.

Both have flaws. The CF is not 'better'. If I was buying another one now, I wouldn't favour CF over BTF. Take the dial out of the equation - which is subjective anyway - and it's not even close in my opinion.

Nothing is perfect. I still say Clean is better than Btf because the dial is the most important thing.

There is no daytona 116500 with shiny sub dials like Btf. I do like the btf too but i have to say the truth.

You’re conflating your opinion and truth. As long as we all know that - we do - t’s fine.
There are many members here who has gen and they made comparison between the btf and gen. I did a lot of research and I agree with you that there is a daytona with shiny subdials but not bright as the btf.

It depends a lot where your focus is at. If it is on the shinyness or non-shinyness of the subdials indeed cf might be your favorite one. Under certain angles and light conditions it can be closer to the original dial (under different angles or light conditions maybe not shiny enough). But the dial is anyway nowhere near gen. If you plan to mod it in this aspect the btf with the correct type pushers and threads and glas is most probably the better choice.

Planning on getting a BTF v3 base and add a CF (v3?) black dial. That seems to be the way to go other than the large hole in coronet issue which frankly isn't as big of a deal.

That’s what I did resp. planning to do. However, this time ordering a spare (CF V3 black) dial takes a bit longer than usually expected. I know ordering spare parts always takes longer than just ordering a watch.

I ordered from Li at JTime more than five weeks ago -> No QC yet.

I also ordered through Geektime more than two weeks ago (as a kind of a „back-up“ and test order) -> No QC yet.

No biggie, I can wait. But just as a heads up that ordering a spare CF V3 dial can take a bit longer these days.
