I personally quite slowed down with collecting reps in the past year, not just because i like a lot of affordable/genuine watches that i can easily buy without going on the darkside, but also because i kinda feel the game is gonna end..
come on, that noob is identical at gen. For a fraction of the price. Unreal

I don’t know how to explain..
you have a seven hundred dollars daytona on your wrist.
so is the daytona a seven hundred dollars watch?
that’s it, hope you understand.
is a 4130 clone our community’s biggest dream? The unreplicable one.. a stainless steel watch which is correct thickness to gen.. no 7750 anymore, something we dreamed about for a long time, a perfect daytona. Here it is, you can have it.
I started questioning my self hard if i can really afford daytona lifestyle.

if not for the replica selling part, i would've said this guys is definitely a member here, but it seems someone is providing them with the info and watches, although it's not that hard to get them anymore.
still the comparison is nice, but as everyone else said, it would've been better for us to stay in the shadow.

Thats the begging of the end for us guys, the second these things go mainstream everything gets completely fucked out of this world

Most of Rolex’s customers are not interested in buying a fake watch and they never will be. Same for any luxury brand.

A fake is a fake - and to the Watchfinder guys point, the experience of wearing a fake vs gen is totally different regardless of how similar they look.

This x100. On gen watch forums, they spend a lot of time trying to spot reps. There are a few who know a lot about gens and can offer advise. But man, this forum knows way more about what is different from gen to rep. I think a lot more people here could spot a fake better than most everyone on the gen watch fora.

KJ2020 and bobfrivor the thing is, they are in the world of reps as well, they're just buying reps to compare with the gens that they have. They are the one who urge me to enter this game, and they say that it will be fun for me since I'm collecting watches as well (not the luxury brands though) but still I love watches, doesn't matter if it's a well known brand or a luxury one, as long as it catch my eye I'm going for it. And since I can afford only one Gen a year (maybe) (hahaha), it's hard for me to keep up with them =D

I think its good and bad that people are making videos on these higher quality reps. Good: Prevents people from getting scammed, even on R forums I see arf/noob bracelets being sold as gen. Bad: more attention from the Feds which will lead to raids/ stricter enforcement

I don't agree it's totally different, in fact for me at least it's QUITE similar, or I wouldn't be doing it. I've owned a number of gen Rolexes over the years and still derive a great deal of pleasure gawking at one of my awesome reps. It's an additionally exuberant feeling knowing I didn't have to spend $35K to look at one of my beauties like this one when its turn in rotation comes up. If you're not deluding yourself, you're missing the point. Buy into the fantasy you're paying for is my approach.

I have gens and reps and can honestly say I get huge pleasure from both. Especially my noob Daytona! I'd have to sell 2 gens to buy a gen Daytona, no need though because the rep is so close. I tend to buy reps that arent close enough to gen for my liking, PM for instance and the hulk.

Reps are getting so well made is scary, a rep is always going to be a fake watch (fake is fake) but damn .. Not have to spend 25k, 20k, 10k, 5k, etc for a watch and have the same look feels really good

Thanks mate!

Appreciate your reply mate. I found that post really confusing, because the threads/links mentioned in that post are either not valid anymore or link to other random threads.

Is there any other guides which are more up-to-date?

Really all I want to know is who sells this model and how i can get in touch with them. Thanks in advance :)

I have a few gens, a speedmaster, datejust, etc. Reason why I don't have a gen daytona or submariner is because I've been to all 3 ad's near me and not only are they out of stock all of the time but they also treat me like crap acting like their brand is too good for me.

I totally get where you're coming from, and agree completely. If I could walk into an AD and pick up a Submariner, or even wait a couple of months I would.
But I think its still a minority of people who would look into and settle for a fake, rather than a gen.

More and more that will change because the Rolex retail market is a shit show and likely wont get any better.

100% it's ridiculous to have to pay twice as much money on the secondary market to pick up a stainless steel watch. I honestly think some of these ad's are "selling" the watches to a close friend and splitting the profit, doesn't make sense for them to sell a hulk for $9000 when they could have it sold in a day on any forum for $15000
