Gen like or not, Deep crystals go on all my Clean Daytonas.
But watch out for the scratches. The AR is like butter. Even with microfiber cloth wipes it can get scratched. Had to exchange on 2 of my Daytonas already.Gen like or not, Deep crystals go on all my Clean Daytonas.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve not experienced that with mine. Is that true of ALL Deep crystals or some worse than others?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the consensus that to best match the gen you should polish the outer AR coat off the deep?

You are right. But at that point why not just buy a gen crystal? If you seek gen, replace with gen.
Deep isn't gen but it makes the dial really "pop". The 2xAR is really nice. If you spent $300 on a meteorite dial then wouldn't you like to see it clearly with no reflections?
Very fair. Myself, I bought a CF Vader Daytona because I got a gen as a gift and am not comfortable wearing something so expensive, but also don't want to insult the person that gave it to me, so verisimilitude is everything. If it were a meteorite dial it would be a non-issue, I would never pass as someone wearing a 100k watch.

I have a gen 116500 (from 2019), several Cleans, several BTFs, and several Deeps. None of the rep crystals are like my gen. BTF and Deep are both too clear. Clean is too hazy.
But I’ve heard that later Daytonas eventually came with 2x AR but I can’t confirm that. I can only compare with the 2019 gen that I have.

Should be in my hands in the next week or so. Finally! This lighting doesn’t do the dial any justice whatsoever.

I get questions on Daytona recommendations all the time and I have to explain "Daytona Beach" not "Rolex Daytona" .. until @occb2 built one for me, I hadn't even owned a Rolex in decades.
And this Daytona I totally copied from Sir @Hasselbaink who was cool with me doing so, only the hands are different and I'll likely leave it that way.
Need to credit @Storm. as well for pushing me to finally do this.
