I'm not in the least bit upset and I'm not interested in witch hunts. If you and the others are happy to deal with him, happy with the dials he sells then that's great news, but this individual has been banned from RWI .
Talk about him as much as you want in PM or off-site and nobody will care.
I won't go into this further after this post.
Witch hunt and an admin, an advisor and a super mod within three posts trying to bash somebody is kinda the same.
And if somebody asks where the dials are from, what is one to do? Hide in the shadows and in secrecy send a PM?
I would rather worry about the trusted watchmakers here that have massive issues. But that's not for me to discuss

These guy is not credible. He buys dodgy dials off Amazon.
All information has been shared with administration and in your threads concerning JJ in the staff forums.
Nobody said he makes the dials by hand.
And please show me a website where I can buy my onyx dial, that I personally requested in the exact configuration.

Of course you can, please show me where anyone has said you can't buy his overpriced dials? If you want to buy overpriced Chinese dials you can go right ahead but I'll be damned if I will sit here and have others be misled into thinking this guy is some kind of dial guru when he's only reselling Chinese dials at twice the price they retail for from the makers and 5 or 6 times the wholesale cost.
The reason RWI was started was to prevent people from being ripped off, I would be remiss and untrue to the raison d'etre of this forum if I didn't speak out when I see people being not just sold overpriced products but blatantly lied to in order to facilitate said sales.
As for the speadracer, he joined this forum on the 17 of Feb this year, he has 129 posts, almost 3/4s the posts in the last three months (as far as I bothered to go back) mention JJ and praise his work, most of the others are either sales post or fluff. Anyone can go check that themselves by going to his profile and clicking on "postings". Do you honestly think I should ignore that given that JJ was banned here for scamming and I have a constant stream of PM from VERY knowledgeable members of the Daytona modding community not just telling me the dials are Chinese but showing me photos from the China sellers to prove it? Do you expect me to ignore that? What would that say about the integrity of this forum? Me thinks you doth protest a little too much . . .
I protest because I have commissioned personally a custom dial that was made to my specs.
Does he sell rubelite dials like other sellers? Yes. Are they the same dials? As far as I can tell and have seen myself? No.
That's why I protest and that's why I defend the guy. Because I know the quality and I know they don't come from SW lol

Yuo can believe what you like but you are incorrect in your belief. I have not had one single well-known modder who has not messaged me and told me these aren't Chinese dials, not one person who knows the market backwards is defending JJ. You can pay what you like but you are NOT going to pass your mistaken beliefs on to others on this forum, Alles Klar?

For what it’s worth, my Chinese dealer cannot source any of the dials offered by JJ. And he (my Chinese dealer) routinely sources dials from Both SW and Buff. I’ve ordered many custom builds from this dealer (no, it’s not a TD and no, it’s not hillbilly).
(note: JJ’s nickname is the Dial King lol)
I realize JJ dials are pricey. I would be silly to buy them blindly without price shopping. I have asked around. I don’t doubt that the dials are from China. In fact, I am certain they are. But I don’t believe they are from SW, Buff, or any other well known dial factory.

With all due respect, and I mean that, this doesn’t make sense. I love RWI, the community here, and I do appreciate what the staff does especially in the RWI m2m sales sections. I was an admin of a large forum once and I know what it’s like to volunteer my time.
But to say RWI protects its members from being ripped off from being sold overpriced products? Thats exactly what TDs do lol. I deal with non TDs exclusively and I have it on record that his profits on a BTF/CF Daytona are well over $100 USD and that’s with him selling them to me at $535-$550. TDS sell the EXACT same watches for $775-$850. The new “ARF” (RAF” 5 digit Subs are around $475 from TDs (last I checked) and about $350-$375 from my on TD.
I get that TDs offer after sales support (or they’re supposed to) and go through a rigorous vetting process. Granted, I’m just one guy, but my dealer has offered me great after sales support when I got a DOA watch. And I’m sure there are many others that can attest to similar service. But take that with a grain of salt.
And I think noobs should buy from TDs for the peace of mind.
But the point is, TDs sell overpriced watches…

I won't throw fuel into the fire but if all TDs suddenly disappeared the replica world would be far worse not better.
TDs upcharge a reasonable amount considering the sheer amount of BS and RLing they go through... reading the review threads shows you a bit of what they endure everyday.... we only think it's expensive because we have a baseline but 10 years ago the replica was vastly different...
The difference is I think the honesty or dishonesty aspect. We all know TDs upcharge, but they (most of the time) are honest about their product, where it seems this dial seller JJ, we cannot get a clear reading on where his product comes from.
There's a difference between intentional misleading and upcharging. I don't think anyone would be mad if he says he got his dials from China but installs the markers and does QC himself and/or does the refinishing himself, but I think the difference is he is promoting himself to make the dials himself, vastly different to let's say a guy like Oascam, who we see his updates on dial making....
