Did Clean recently update the crystal on this? I've seen people mention it, but not sure if true since the reply above me stats the crystal looks a tad washed. I'm on the verge of ordering a VSF, but I'm seeing issues with some SEL gaps with VSF YM's, so I'm starting to wonder if I should just go for a Clean.

I'm new to all this, but what I can tell you is that idk how it's possible for a crystal to get any clearer than my CF. Maybe because my experience with them is limited, but sometimes it's hard to tell it even has one in it (it looks like you're literally going to touch the hands, dial, etc because there's nothing on top protecting them, not sure if that makes sense but look at my pics earlier in this thread). If the cyclops wasn't there, sometimes I wouldn't think it had a crystal.

The myth of "Clean crystal is bad" is a replica myth carried on from the old GMT masters and Daytonas..... the new ones are fine. They're not AS good as VSF black hole effect but it isn't bad by any stretch....

I’m happier now with my clean. I think the yellow lighting in my apartment was just bad.

Here are some updated pictures in natural sunlight and overhead white lighting

That said, I think I’ll be moving on from the grey dial so that I can try out the blue one. This one is a little too understated for my tastes!

Here my VSF YM 40:

I also had Clean and in my opinion Clean is better.
Clean has bezel more aesthetically similar to gen. Numbers 10, 20, etc of Clean are more gen like.
Furthermore the DW numbers of VSF are thinner.
But the main problem is the blue color of the second hand and of Yatch-Master text that are too dark. I had seen this problem in other posted photos and it is strange that VSF does not solve it. The dark color of Yatch-Master text, being the dark gray dial, makes it very difficult to read to the naked eye if you are not outdoors in the sunlight.
Crystal maybe a little better than Clean.
In conclusion I consider Clean the winner.
