I'm going to order one for myself. If I can use it to watch what I'm doing on my big screen monitor (as I suspect I can), there's no doubt in my mind that it would be good for that!

You could probably get good macro shots. Kinda like this except you can take the shots.

@TB,
Just be sure this model allows some distance from camera to object. (So you can get tools in between) I bought something similar a few years back, and the camera lens had to be almost on top of the object,
I then bought a proper binocular microscope, with the correct lens to give me distance and some depth of field. Its a tricky balancing act, you end up using a -X2 lens to give your self some room! so a 80X mag becomes X40.

You can't. I don't use mine much for actual work but it's great for taking pics of MVTs and such as well as just general amusement.
