I had a problem with my GMT II C that the crystall was not perfectly sitting on the case and I decided to have it replaced and use an AR coated crystall from Uwe (fine dd). I sent the watch to Uwe last Thursday and got the watch back yesterday. Uwe worked on it over the complete weekend and found out what was causing the problem. First of all there was a dent in the case and the containerring was broken by this dent.
Here is a picture with the old and new container ring
Uwe had to grind down the new container ring so that it would fit the crystall. He also took the inlay of the bezel out and cleand it so that it would perfectly fit. I guess he also did some other work on it to make it a very nice and fine watch. He used an AR crystal and the outcome of his work is just beautiful.
Enjoy the pics and if you need AR in EU, send a PM to fine dd
The crystall is just perfect, no blue or any other colour visible. Why can't Rolex do it this way?
