£3795 is wildly steep mind!

Interesting stretch piece for CW. Not in their usual wheelhouse to be sure (a real step up from the C1). But the price is a bit sharp I agree. I would pick up something Zenith or Longines instead.

Still, a really interesting piece. It really reminds me of a Zenith on second looks.

Nice to be different for sure. But like you say, this price brings some big dogs into the mix for sure

I don't understand what is supposed to be impressive about it? They put a free sprung balance on the front of the dial. At least the Bel Canto was somewhat mechanically impressive with their in house chime module.

They're going for a GP Bridges look for 1/4th of the price but its simply too expensive to be appealing. Even the Bel Canto is borderline too expensive its current runs are not sold out at all.

I like it but I'd pay no more than around 2500 for it.

PS: In-house caliber or not, add a few hundred €'s, and you're already in Omega Seamaster territory. Some mid-tier watch companies have been dramatically overestimating the value of their brand lately... And wonder why their 5k watches aren't selling.
Totally diff watch for diff buyer though, but you are in gray market Zenith Defy territory for this and youd have to be loco not to choose that first.

Yeah, true... Doesn't attract the same buyers. I also had gray market or even pre-owned (almost as good as unworn) for something like a Zenith Defy in mind, and you're close to matching this or even well below 5k for one used a bit more.

Who goes for a CW, instead of a used Defy for 4500-4600 (or practically new for a few 100 more on top of 5k)?

I guess CW will end up selling them for $2,300 or $1,999 through high-discount gray dealers like Ashford or Jomashop. 😂 Mark my words. 😜

Agree. Half the price I'll buy one. At 5k you're competing against ALOT of good watches. The 3-5k segment is some of the most competitive bracket for watches in general.

I mean. This or a used GS Spring Drive or a Moonwatch? Most horological nerds would pick GS or Omega

Oh my god, stop! So true!!!!!!!!!

At €5K, you’re deeeeeeeeeeep in horological treasure territory.

Now CW’s pricing person just looks like a total wanker… 🤣🤣🤣

Sure, some picks are pre-owned — but for a bit over €5K, you could get a near-mint 3861 Co-Axial Moonwatch with bracelet and Hesalite.

And Grand Seiko? Come on. €5K lands you absolute masterpieces.

I get that GS and CW have different vibes, but if you're a watch person, there's no way you're picking CW over a GS Snowflake, Moonwatch, Bond Seamaster, or other legends.

And discounts on new GS pieces? Practically effortless to find them...

No hate on CW in general. I really like the brand!

But €5K for this? Feels like they’re just chasing the mechanical watch hype and trying to shamelessly capitalize on it. 🙄

It's a gimmicky watch from a brand without much traditional brand value etc.

You can pick up M.A.D. Editions that are basically a mass market sub-brand of MB&F, starting at 3k€ used or, with luck, 3,5k€ new, including the new M.A.D. 2. For me, they are in the same category as this one. The Loco is probably more comparable to the M.A.D. 2 with regard to how wearable this is.

That said - I would rather take an M.A.D. 2 for 3,5k€ than this one for 5k€ - both are not “flex pieces” but more nerd pieces.

I bought a MAD 1 I won in the raffle, spent around $3,300, wore it three times and it sits in the box.

Dumb. These gimmicky kind of watches dont end up getting any wrist time Id have been better off getting any number of Tudor/Omega/Cartier/Zenith etc etc etc in the sameish bracket.

In general Im done with gimmicky micro brands/independents I see I like I waste money and they sit.
