There's also a Hruodland (same company as Tactical Frog) which makes a quartz version for 190€ and 7,3mm thickness, with anchor logo instead of maltese cross... The "moral High Ground" writing is hilarious!

The engineers and manufacturers in China are awesome but their dial designers and marketers should be shot
It's the brand names that get me - Superbly bad in some cases
That's my primary holdback in any AliX brand purchasing decision. Terrible. If San Martin changed its logo (which isn't one of the worst, either) they'd easily compete with European microbrands (on a so-to-speak "prestige" level, I'm sure their sales are higher)
I don't understand why they don't throw some money into the "design" element and get some European vision/tastes on board and really break through. They would wipe the floor with some of these other micro-brands as the quality is there, the aesthetic not so much
Thankfully Tudor doesn’t make a Ranger with a green lacquer dial and gilt indexes so I can content myself with this guy.
I had two different Steinhart’s and some of the Chinese models.
The issue for me is quality, materials used and finish. Simply said, most reps are better in both quality and finish (depending on factory and rep of course, so referring to the top reps out there.)
I am not talking about flaws in the replication of the watch. I am also not talking about reps with poor movements.
Anyway, I tried the Chinese brands and even Steinhart, but I’ll pass.

Oh and yeah…. U are absolutely right, there is a whole lot wrong with us!! In the first place the insane amount of money we spend on watches! In the second place the frequency with which we want to change watches. And trust me, the second one is the worst. I even have that with Gen watches. :-( which brings it back to Nr 1, the crazy amount we spend on watches…. lol….. man, lot wrong with us for sure. And lastly how we share our enthusiasm with others. Hey, I just bought this 15k watch. I am very happy with it. Here, I’ll take it off so you can f** around with it” …it’s just completely insane. ;-)I tried for years to scratch my Rolex Submariner itch, I bought lots of good quality Gen watches (not Chinese) mostly Swiss, most were dive watches and again most were Submariner homages, brands of ones that come to mind include Squale, Steinhart, Ginault, Davosa, MKll, even TudorNothing worked! Of course I eventually bought my Gen Sub and even that was a challenge to decide on which one, eventually I settled on a 2010 14060M and I’ve had it for four years now and still love it. So maybe there is ’something wrong with us’ but I guarantee you on this Forum I would guess that 90% of us here have got the disease!
But man, do I love to be insane!

Love the feeling of purchasing and researching, taking the time to look into everything about a piece, only to buy it and then never wear it!

Or buy it, change the strap options 15 times to see how it looks, then never wear it
