Just wanted to show a picture side by side comparing my gen Black Bay red (mk3) and the Pagani BB (V2 Apparently) homage. Before getting into it, I think I purchased the Pagani at like the height of Covid 19 so its been a few years and I know it's a bit of an unfair comparison as Pagani copied the previous non-METAS Black Bay version. Anyways, this did not scratch the itch for long enough and I ended up needing the gen the moment the Metas version was announced and especially on the Jubilee bracelet. The new BB wears much smaller on the wrist than the previous version and this means it looks and feels less slabby.
Good points:
What I did like about the Pagani was the fact that they put texture onto the dial and it was all aligned pretty well. Additionally the squared hour markers are copied from a Pelagos (which kind of suit the design... ironically). The addition of the date was also quite nicely done.
Bad Points:
The red is off - this is my big "itch" so to speak and definetly not being scratched with this shade. Then there's the bracelet being uncomfortable as hell and after adjusting it, the screws liked to slip out of the links even though they were tightened quite thoroughly. Then there is this: Pagani LIED about 2 things... the movement used - when I opened the back to regulate the movement as it was running a little slow, it was not a Seiko NH35 but an Epson YN55 inside (similar but not quite the same). Secondly they didn't provide a display caseback as per their listing on AliX but a solid steel one - this point doesn't bother me as much but it seems like they were hiding their own shortcomings of using a different movement. If memory serves correct, I feel like there was a shortage of NH35 movements back when I got the Pagani, but IMO its still a bit of a crappy thing to do.
I will happily admit that when I first got the Pagani, I did not take it off for months, but slowly with the bracelet issues it became a bit uncomfortable and was relegated to rotational use every once in a while. Since getting the Tudor, the Pagani has not been touched until I took these photos. From my (albeit limited) experience with Pagani, I think they are still a long way off in terms of build quality to "become irreplaceable" in my collection at least. However, what they offer is a lot of bang for your buck so it is very likely I will try something from them again in the future.
Bonus pic for those interested - Gen BB red vs Pagani "homage" vs a DHG Shitter (from years ago)
I don't want to stray off topic here - but that shitters bezel was not properly aligned, wrong shade (itching really badly here) and as you can probably tell... F*** that bracelet it came with

- That is all I have to say on that.
