Chicago Customs Seized/Confiscated

I'm still waiting for the letter. It's been a FULL MONTH stuck in Chicago customs now. Pure-Time still won't acknowledge confiscation without letter. I called USPS and they said I must go through shipper. I have completely ran out of patience with Pure-Time. I won't be purchasing anything from them again...

Even without a letter, enough time has passed for your TD to assume the obvious. He can at least check the tracking and see the package hasn't been delivered for an inordinately long time.

No TD will re-ship without proof of confiscation by customs.

As if one full month in customs isn't obvious enough as proof... But you are wrong, some TDs will resend if obvious (one month in customs) without letter of confiscation.

No TD will re-ship without proof of confiscation by customs.

Chicago Customs is possibly the toughest in the country right now. Has been for years. When I bring in good cigars, they always pass through customs without issue but anytime they go thru Chicago customs, they get snagged. I have had 3 shipments of cigars confiscated in Chicago in 14 months. It take Chicago customs about 6-8 weeks to process the paperwork, but I assure you that if in fact it was seized, then you WILL be getting a Seizure Letter from US Customs.

all TD's have their own process on how they handle a missing/lost or non delivered shipment. SOme TDs wont make you wait for the seizure letter with the understanding that if the missing package is eventually delivered, that you will reimburse the TD for the reshipment. Some TD's require the US Customs letter. Other TD's require 8 weeks after shipment before they consider it lost in the mail. Its up to each buyer to read the terms and conditions of the TD before buying so you know what the Terms are. If you live in the midwest, its best to ship by DHL to avoid the Chicago issues as all shipments are routed through the CIncinatti hub.
Good luck

I have stopped using EMS because most of my shipments come in through Chicago.

Air mail or DHL only for me.

Wish me luck guys, first rep purchase and it just entered Chicago customs this morning. It's going though EMS and after reading the stories on this thread, I'm a bit worried to say the least.

When I buy cigars, I buy a 3 or 4 boxes at a time. They come in a medium sized box and shipped either EMS or SpeedPost.
Legal Limit is the same as it is for Rep Watches

No doubt. I can't see them destroying every stick in a box. For every one they trash I bet 2 get smoked. I guess that's good incentive for them to find them lol

Rep sat in customs for about 12 hours and was delivered this morning. Just one watch in the package.

Hi, I just wonder if this ever happens to one of you.

I ordered and accepted QC last week and due to public holiday in China the package was sent using DHL on last monday 7 Sept.
I tried to check and track today Thursday 10 Sept and there is nothing happened. 4 days in HongKong.

Does this usually happen if the package ship using DHL?Does DHL always update their tracking frequently?

Thanks

Not delivered is same as confiscated in the dealers policy. Don't worry. Just need a little time to make sure it is lost. One month and still in customs, I think the top wait on an ems should be like 45 days.
