First of all, thank you very much for the long answers. So I guess I am save to buy this watch then. Just 2 more questions:
dashindark What do you mean by "better quality"? I do not care to pay some extra for a better quality :)

Is Trustytime a save source to buy from? What is the reason, he is no TD?

Cheers,
ossi

For the dealer question I can say that Trusty Time is not a TD here at RWI. Had something to do with price cartel in the past . the mods and the long time members can tell you more about that.

I want the same watch. And what I learned is that TT has a patent on the slow beat movement. But if you buy there, there will be no support what so ever from this beloved site. No TD no backup.

have you seen this one no slow beat though, but I don't care. SuperLory he is the AP guru. What I learned from him is that if you wanna go modding, certain demands must be met. If you are OK with the watch out of the box these demands are useless. me for instance are not going to mod.

SuperLory what is your honest opinion?

Cheers to all members.

Slow beat movement from TT is not available anymore, so the only option would be Asia or eta 2836

On the TT Homepage it is still available with 21600 ETA?! Or am I missing something?

I don't know, but ETA 2846 movements are plentiful in Asia especially in China where 2846 based watches were popular until a decade ago. I don't think you should worry about the availability of the movement. Ask any TD here and you will get an 2846 based 15706 or get an XF15706 and a 2846 seperately. No need to worry.

By better quality I meant better quality control and movement swap/ service. Get a JF caseback if you can. Some moddings that Darude mentioned, such as the "round edges" modding, are easy to do at home (make sure you protect the crystal when you do this). I don't really think the moddings on crystal or the flexible endlinks are so necessary, but make sure that you get a JF 15706 caseback. They are readily available from JF, quite inexpensive, and easy to install by yourself. XF's overall case construction is very good, but the caseback is sub par.

Follow Darude's guidance if you can. He is really into APs and very helpful. He helped me with moddings before. I am happy that we have such a knowledgeable as well as helpful guy here on this forum.

Better change the crystal and cyclops as well.
Stock crystal is alright, but the green tint is an obvious tell for the person who knows about ap.
Stock cyclops is a bit muddy and cloudy, so replace it is also important.

I really appreciate your insights into APs. What do you think about the bezel of this XF V2 15706? Does the light reflection on the bezel look genlike enough to you? Does gen have similar light reflection on the bezel? It feels solid when I touch it and I guess it is made of some high quality ceramic composite, but I am not sure if the light reflection is similar to that of gen too.

I really wanted to hear your opinion on this. Thanks in advance.

You’re welcome! From what I’ve seen on the gen 44mm FC chrono diver (couldn’t find any gen 42mm FC diver in the wild), the bezel looks similar, so there’s no point rebrushing the bezel. The ceramic that XF uses is a high quality ceramic and they polished it really well. The bezel on the 44mm FC chrono diver that I’ve seen has the same kind of colour as F.C. diver (grey-ish tone when light reflects on the bezel, and fully black colour when there’s no light hitting on the bezel)

Hi, I have the JF FC Diver v3.0 with an A2824 inside. I bought it from Angus on october 2013. After 5 years, the wtach is running as a champ.

I was wondering whether it is worth to update to this XF v2? I have a Mickey 2824 DW and a Prof cyclop ready to be installed in the watch. So before to proceed with the update, do I perform it to my JF v3 or buy the XF v2 and install my parts on it?

thanks!

JF V3 sounds like an older rep model and there are newer versions from JF. Correct me if I am wrong. It is certain that you will be better off if you upgrade to XF V2 and install the parts onto it (not sure about the mikey DW though, the stock DW is good enough), but I am not sure if the caseback from V3 fits well. I myself installed a JF newest caseback (I series) to my XF.

hope it helps.

Maybe some CNC machine tools? I know many companies in the Southeastern provinces of China use them to manufacture reps.

Here is my FC 3.0 with Domi"s 2XAR. Could you enlight me about differences with the XF v2 please?
