Can someone remind me what was the best rep Rolex Sea-Dweller 43mm Ref. 126600 from a few years ago?

Hi guys, i've been out of the rep game for a few years as i went gen (but there's something fun still about good reps so i'm back in the market).

Years ago i recall there was a Rolex Sea-Dweller 43mm Ref. 126600 that i believe had quite wide consensus amongst the RWF community as being one of the best reps out of the box with no mods and almost impossible to distinguish from a gen unless under expert eyes and a magnifying glass. Can any recall what maker/model/seller this may have been?

If i'm in the market for a new rolex sports model rep (ideally a SD, or else a sub) as close to gen straight out of the box standard what are most best options in 2024?

ARF was considered to be the best. A step up would ARF + gen crystal and Noob dial.

Nowadays I'd go for the VSF / XF but make sure to get a new batch with the correct date magnification.

Clean raised the bar a few months ago with their latest release of the 126660. I think it’s the best Sea Dweller currently available. The first ever to have a fully functional HEV valve instead of a decorative valve. Moreover, I think it’s one of the best out of the box reps you could buy.

I do think those Submariners are probably as close to Gen as any reps made, but I think Clean’s Sea Dweller is right there with them.

You are correct - my 6’s got away from me. And I agree - it was already excellent. Little room for improvement and they found a little improvement.

Yes - I agree, that valve will not be used….just like those with the Gen won’t use it. But it is a key feature of the watch, so very cool that Clean did that.

If I can only buy 1 sub, that will be 124060 - I have a 114 and I like the 124 lug shape better.
