Thank you all for the comments. Very enjoyable read.
I agree with the conclusion that HRF closed down and/or merged with HKF at some point. Beginning at the start of this year, preceding the closing/renaming of HKF, there also seemed to have been a drop in the quality of the bezels. That is why anywhere you see HKF photos, there are bezel issues. Reaps does a great job of highlighting that. As far as the angles being the reason for the misalignment, that isn't the case. Just look at photos on RepTime and RepTimeQC. This isn't angle dependent.
TheOneWatches has taken down their HRF listings. Again, I did GL the watch and accept that I bear responsibility here as well. I apologize to Steve for not believing him when he said HKF and HRF are the same factory. That was wrong of me and I should've dug deeper before coming here and whining.
However, there is still the issue of many TDs having two listings up - a more expensive HRF listing and a cheaper HKF listing. This is almost universal across all TDs. There is an obvious benefit to the TDs to keep letting people pay higher prices for "HRF" watches that are actually HKF watches and can be had at a cheaper price from the same exact TD. It is easy to blame the consumer, but how many people here knew that HKF was the same as HRF before this post? Be honest with yourselves. I read many, many posts on the HRF Speedmaster Racing on here and on reddit before purchasing and it didn't come up once. It wasn't common knowledge, and TDs have been able to take advantage of that. In fact, by listing both on their sites, there is an implication that HKF and HRF are actually *different* factories.
If HRF closed down and renamed themselves to HKF and started charging more for their watches, do you think the TDs would continue to sell at the former HRF prices? If you do, I have a bridge to sell you.
