BTF 126500 LN Daytona with DD4131 Movement!

Just got my hands on mine (white dial version); anyone notice the xtal isn't as good as their other BTF's? This is my third BTF and has by far the 'worst' BTF xtal so far. Normally they just pop so nicely and that's high on my priority list. Perhaps it's the white dial causing more visible reflections? Anyone have the old reference model BTF, the 116500LN, how's that compare to your other BTF's?

With my other BTF's (Ghost dial and meteorite) there's so many times I'll look and wonder where the crystal has gone. With the 126500LN it's got to be at a very precise angle for me to catch it, or rather 'unsee' it. It's still better than two Deeps I've got but don't really think much of them. Heard the profs are the best after gens but haven't been fortunate to see any of his yet.

These actually look great in the pics. Hard thing to really capture though, when you're wearing it and you're used to seeing how the light catches it, that's when you know it's no where near as good. Glad someone has agreed though! Wish there was a way to buy the old xtals they used to use.

From what I’ve seen so far I like the Clean Panda better.

Black dial on the other hand is another story…

From what ice seen after watching QC. BTF is inconsistent.

They have some variation in subdial thickness that I've seen. Some look great others look fat.

Another issue is hand misalignment. Sometimes chrono subdial hands not 0'd in. Whatever small issue get a watch maker to fix it.

Also seen bezels misaligned and not perfectly dead on. Again a watchmaker fix.

But the most egregious thing has to be subdial printing. Sometimes they're perfect and the numbers are dead on center including markers. Sometimes they're drunk.

Watch out for these.

See the rainbow reflections and distortions? No bueno. Old BT didnt have it like that

Top row is BTF stock, bottom row is with a Deep crystal. Given that Deep and BTF crystals used to look very similar with their double AR, it does appear BTF has made a change.

I still think BT might be the winner for the black dial because of movement. I want to see a breakdown. A dial and crystal can always be replaced easily. A movement not so much.

Look at the coronet of the crown. It is shifted to the right a little bit. I know I'm insane.

Top row is BTF stock, bottom row is with a Deep crystal. Given that Deep and BTF crystals used to look very similar with their double AR, it does appear BTF has made a change.

Maybe they’re going more along the gen route which is single ar coating underneath? I do like the double coating though

BT = bit thicker. So it's all good.
