Yes, it was intentional.

Scrub the watch clean of previous patina in lemon drink. 1st bath of liver of sulpher, rub with wet towel then 2nd bath of LoS again. Now waiting for the patina to cure before rubbing it down again.

Looks like patinated brass to me.
