You seal it by greasing the back-of-the-case-gasket with silicone grease, correct? Does the crown need special treatment?

I guess he talks about sealing the bronze case because of the patina.

What you mean is making the watch more waterproof.

For that you have to grease the case back gasket and all gaskets at the crown.

Your right mate, sealing the watch case with a wax that slows the patina down.Youve seen for yourself how quickly the patina changes on practically a daily basis
I do grease the case back but I don't have the experience or confidence to remove the stem......Yet[emoji6]
I'm trying to learn how to service my movements but I'm practising on old ones at the mo,

I'm still waiting for someone to do the "blue" patina trick,
Bet it would look awesome against the blue face

If somebody do it, the watch will never get it's shiny look when cleaned.

When you do it and then clean, the bronze will be with a matte clear color

Never!
I'm glad you told me bro,I was considering doing that to my 671,
I'd be gutted if I damaged the finish on it

If you like the clean look of the bronzo just like I do, never do it to you watch!
There's also a video from watchuwant on youtube where they clean their bronzo and when finished it look totally matte.
I guess there is a "point of no return" in those bronze watches that once reached, it never gets that new look again

Who said the patina comes quickly? This is how my 671 looks after 5 days since the last lemon juice bath [emoji23]

Wtf have they done to that watch?
I will stick with my PEEK,
I've got polishing wheels in my garage but I don't fancy stripping the watch & bezel down just to put the brushed finish back on,
Would be a hell of a lot of work,

Actually I am more into the natural patina look...not gonna force anything.

Hehehe Although somebody has to try Tabasco sauce...vinegar/salt/chile peppers. Maybe the chiles give the bronze something nobody can replicate. ;)

Yay! Nice and shiny! But I gotta tell ya - my heart bleeds for all the bronzos getting this denuding Brazilian wax (yes, I said it!) treatment. That's not the life for a "get in the dirt, let it soak in, and enjoy it" metal! And I've noticed this embarrassment is being meted to only the blue dial Pams. I can imagine all the green dials pointing at them, laughing and screaming, "Wimpy! Wimpy!! Wimpy!!!"[emoji851][emoji851][emoji851]

I like some patina, but not at the point to make the watch all matte and almost brown. With too much patina the polished detais are gone, and I don't like

But a good cleaned bronzo looks amazing!
I like to keep my 382 also clean
Oh, and I'm from Brazil, lol

Horses for courses
IMHO there's a pattern emerging with the blue dials & the shiny cases. The watch has to be seen in the flesh to appreciate how stunning they look with shiny cases,My iPhone camera is wank & cant capture how nice they look.
OR we could be a load of big girls blouses wanting shiny looking watches[emoji2][emoji23][emoji6][emoji23]
I will let you decide[emoji6]
