It does look like an excellent rep. Well done Angus!

Besides what has been previously mentioned, I can only add that the amount of lume on the hands looks wider than the gen's hands.

Despite that, it really is a sweet looking watch. If it is built as good as it sounds to be, it's a nice watch regardless of any minor inaccuracies.

I will most definitely be getting one.

if i remember correctly, the newer steelfishes are upgraded w wider hands. the one i have is an older steelfish, bought the newer pro2 bracelet cause i prefer it's looks..so angus's rep is still accurate..

The datefont may not be accurate (ETA standard vs Breitling style). This happens on the Seawolf too... no worry, it's very minor flaws.... I may have to pass on this one since I have the Seawolf... or I will wait till the price is on the low 200 for Swiss version.

Good call Azgjav. The hands are correct for the newer version. They did change the size from your older version.

I saw where people were getting their older watches back from BUSA repair with the newer hands. They were pissed because Breitling said that's all they had at the time.

Here's a pic of the newer gen hands and they do look wider than yours as well , so the rep isn't far off.

Again it looks like this is going to be a damn good rep. [smilie=thumbsup.gif] We'll see once we start to get them in our hands.

WELL, Let's put it this way

..when any Breitling-istis doubts if it's a rep due to ANY issue, just tell him: "Okay, let's go swimming this afternoon" 8) 8)

Anyways, the gen of this so damn affordable no one will ever doubt it. ;)

This happens every time a new rep comes out: in all the excitement, nobody seems to be examining the soecs or the accuracy very closely until many of us bought the watch then OOOPS a review or a post comes out pointing out the flaws then, a bit later, some of the watches appear in the For Sale section, from people disillusioned or disappointed with the watch.

So I will ask some questions:

Is the bezel nice and tight?

Is the AR strong enough to withstand some splashing or washing of the watch?

Is the bracelet of great high quality? Will some screws be ceased and unscrewable?

Is the date wheel well aligned?

How is the crown? Nice, thick and smooth? Will winding manually be smooth and problem free?

Just asking before dropping $395 Canadian.

I gotta a decision to make here you see: spend $400 CND on a new rep or take up the offer from a Canadian fellow to buy a gen Tag Heuer Link for $600 CND???

I mean the Superocean is for sure looking good in the photos///

Luke

Very good point. It looks superb, but like you I think I'll wait til somebody here reviews it before taking the plunge....geddit?!! :)

Why does the watch on the gen site have the HE valve at the 10/11 o'clock position? Did they move it on the new model?

Please take a look at the ss bracelet of the watch on the Breitling site, it is an old model, what we have is the new one.

I gotta say... it's a beauty. I was saving money for your BCE... but I think I might switch over to the Steelfish.

Sweet :!:

Hope you bring a couple de-co tanks with you! I know a couple guys bit the dust diving on the unknown U-Boat off NJ (at 200-plus ft.)

....I think I'll play it safe and drift the reefs off Cozumel! (I think I would play it safe with the watch too, and dive with my orange monster!)

PS: I already took the plunge and ordered the superocean. Does anyone know the lug width? I'd like to get to an AD and buy a gen rubber strap.

No kidding... if it's waterproof down to 100 feet, it'll be enough for 95% of recreational scuba divers out there.

As soon as I can get a review from someone here, I just might take the plunge -- figuratively and literally. :)

Lug width is 22mm. I picked up a rubber strap while on vacation in the Cayman Islands last week for $45. :)

Hi,
as most readers of this topic, I think that could be my next rep. Finishing looks good, especially for the price.
But always the same old problem for me : size ! De pending on how the dial is, I can wear some 44 mm watches, but not always.

Would someone be kind enough and let me know the size :
- of the dial itself (that makes most of the size feeling on your wrist, at a first glance)
- of the edge between the crown and the dial
- and finally the diameter, crown included.

Thx a lot to whom will loose some minutes for me

Dial itself is ~31mm (diameter)
edge between crown and dial: ~12mm
diameter with crown: 46mm (till crown end).

This watch looks much smaller than any PAM (including the 40mm) and its Avenger Seawolf brother.
