Yeah, Gen xtal wont fitnthe bpsd case BUT the good news is that the stock xtal looks exactly and I mean exactly like the f seriel gen. So unless you want a very specific look and are willing to let someone machine your case its just not really necessary..in my opinion the first thing that must be done is to get a gen crown on there, the stock crown is really bad. Then go TC on dial, hands, bracelet and dwo..The TC dial is a little crisper imo

I think you have to be lucky with TCs crystals. The last one I got some time ago wasn't really worth the money.

I have to say I agree with this and I went to the trouble of having a Gen Xtal installed on mine.

Adrian did an amazing job and he achieved a much better height than the stock xtal but to be honest if were to do my build again I'd not bother with gen xtal.

It's not like the Submariner Crystals, that is the first mod I'd do as Gen looks so much better than stock.

So if I got things right, the same works on the case are necessary to install a gen or a WSO crystal, right?

Yes this is correct, from what I understand the WSO crystal is gen spec just maybe a slightly inferior clarity to the Gen.

Would you say the gen crystal has a significant difference between the bp crystal or a jandk swiss crystal? Is the difference in the chamfer? I want so badly to put a gen bezel on mine but the price is holding me back

Yeah the chamfered edge is very nice and the clarity is better but does it really warrant the extra money???

Answer not really sure it's probably the last mod I'd do all the other stuff is more important.

The Gen bezel shines more and definitely makes the watch look more expensive and also feels so much better than my stock BP really sturdy stuff.

That's kind of what I thought, I think I got a little carried away.

My thoughts have changed recently on how I view reps.

As fantastic as they are they will always be reps, moving forward I'm just going to enjoy them for what they are and leave them stock (with maybe a better aftermarket strap).

I love my Franken don't get me wrong but really it's just a really expensive rep.

Soooo I went to a local AD, and tried on a seadweller. Well.. I think now I must get one. I was NOT impressed with the gen. However, I will be impressed with a REP. So now, I have to search and find how to do this.

Goodbye SubC ND.. I'm hoping the SD will give less attention on the wrist. My subc ND gave me to much attention, that I did not like.

Did you try on the classic 16600?

If so, why not impressed?

I've heard a lot of people say 5 digit rolex feel cheap which I kind of understand when comparing to the new ceramic models.

I did, and that was it. The bracelet did not feel good, to me. And the clasp felt almost sharp. However I was just looking online and boy was the jewelry store WAY overpriced.. they wanted 8900.

You get used to the feel of it, I prefer how the old style clasp looks.

Yeah depends on age and whether it has box and papers but you can pick them up for around 4.5k GPB or as much as 9k.

The only place I would buy a Gen 16610 LN or LV or a SD 16600 would be HQ Milton or David SW or maybe TRF from one of the big boys.
