I've been researching and it could be that hands and other parts could be swapped with 2824/36 ones.
http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showpost.php?p=1418486&postcount=20
But nobody has confirmed this so... still waiting for updated info.
So the mods needed for this are:
New hands (Clarks or possibly gens)
New Crown (Gen) (tube as well?)
Bracelet replaced
Anything else?
Cheers
That's what I am going for, although will be using TC parts.
1. TC Bracelet.
2. TC Crown/Tube
3. TC Hands
I reckon the lume on the TC hands will match the BP SD dial very well, as it is very close to the lume on my TC sub.
Thanks Rols, so are you sourcing the parts from a spare watch or are you ordering the parts from somewhere?
Cheers
Mine just arrived.
Impressions:
Insert and pearl look great!
Bezel clicks sound like gen most of the time, not plasticky like my noob subc. However in some spots during turning the bezel it suddenly does not click. I suspect oil or dirt inside.
Anyone has an idea how to fix this?
Bezel is a little loose. Too much play when in place.
Dial is good. 6 marker maybe ever so slightly tilted. Or?
Case back very nice.
Crown not so smooth in unscrewing.
Date centered on all dates except 20+, left alligned.
Bracelet low quality but a bit better with some baby oil.
Hands are the biggest let down. Have to fix this.
I was waiting for a Sead EU stock for buying this watch because many were very happy with this rep.. But then reading this thread you said that you need to buy TC sub, hands and also dwo is not centered, ecc
So it's a bad out of the box rep? I like this watch and also the noob explorer 2.. better I go with the explorer?
(I've not the tools and not able to mod watches..)
Yes it definitely needs some work with a few mods, but what the BP SD is a great starting point for an excellent SD with the mods done.
I am not able to do the mods myself either, so mine will being going off to one of our modders when the parts arrive.
The Explorer 2 is also a very nice watch, maybe that would be a better choice if you don't want to spend the extra on parts and getting the mods done.
