Rep points for Ebzen for starting this thread, excellent find!

Here's a gen SD "K" series photo, the BP factory SD build looks very close to this.

Nice find madcat.

Confirms the tells of the bp sd as hands and maybe dw. Both fixable.

Would love to see pics soon of modded bp sd with other hands. Wonder how many of us can tell Gen from rep of such a watch.

This watch is a definite keeper for me.

Planned mods for mine.

1. TC SD bracelet
2. TC SD hands
3. TC crown and tube
4. Get datewheel aligned

I worked out a rough cost for all of this, including getting the work done by a modder will be around $450 including the watch, I got the swiss version so it was a little more expensive.

Comparing what I have into my TC sub of $750, which includes a gen insert. the SD with a few mods seems like a great deal.

And that is me being really picky after reading all the posts in this thread, I reckon once all those mods are done I will have an SD that is as nice as my TC sub in terms of look an feel.

That sounds like a plan. Will be an amazing watch. Get it water proof while you are at it!

Tell me why the tc crown? Can't recall we found anything wrong yet with the stock crown.

The crown doesn't look as good as the TC one, will try and take some photos of the two when I get a chance.

I think the 703 crown, which is the TC one is the correct one for this watch?

exactly, the crown is off. the stock one doesn't have the sharp edges plus the printing of the Rolex logo looks off. however, it winds very nicely.

TC crown, on the other hand, is pure quaility. it is not distinguishable from the gen, even a befriended watchmaker who is an AD Rolex watchsmith couldn't tell the difference. winding the crown feels so gen-like, it is hard to describe. it is only 25 usd, however it is a job for a watchsmith (tube is not a direct fit, you will have to drill the case) which has to be paid.

@Rols16610
I do not know if the 703 crown is correct for the 16600 but I believe so. I am planning the same mods plus TC dial as I want to make sure the lume is the same as the hands. another member reported that the printing on the TC dial is sharper than on the stock rep dial.. but I cannot confirm this as my TC dial is still on its way.

Really? Care to show pics to prove this?

I will look on my computer files and put some pics as soon as I can or you will find the post on rwg under user. "Watcher".

Interesting, I wonder if the TC dial will be a straight swap, as I think I read that it needed some trimming for the previous SD available, hopefully it will just swap over the the BP version

Having trouble with photobucket!!

Horrid first crystal, the updated version looks much better!

This shows the removable rehaut in position

Without crystal

Gen crystal bonded to rehaut and fitted in case

Built up with TC sub band

Cool thanks for the photos, what was the bezel construction like?

Actually from memory the bezel was fixed in the old fashioned way with a wire but not 100%
That aspect was not as gen now I think back! Just the separate rehaut ring.
