this is maxi shot of gen sd dial 1997-2006 series ..still much work to be done ... note the rings around the indeces, most thiker than tc.. and the rolex stamp and crown.. squared and detailed on every parts
You are right, however we are talking about a 230$ rep. Amazing bang for your buck. noob sub c going for 400$ and the dial is worse than this!

Most of the time light sanding is needed. Some have reported no sanding though.

Question for all you BPSD experts:
I just swapped the guts from my SSD over to a used BP case that I picked up. What kind of movement ring comes with the BPSD. The only one I can get to work with an ETA movement is a plastic ring from an old watch. The SSD movement ring doesn't fit and I'm pretty sure the #3 ring from Raffles-time also wont work, although I don't want to take it apart and try it since everything running 100% right now. From seeing how tight the movement is, I'm kinda thinking that they must come with plastic spacers. Also, did they come with both Asian 21j and ETA clone movements. Seems like I mostly see them with that new hi-beat 21j movement.

ok . i received pvt mess. by users who do not see any difference in bp dial vs genuine. I hope now you will understand what I mean ..look at print and rings' marker .. side by side
This is a close up of the TC dial, in watch, it is difficult to get the focus 100% right and depth of field difficult too. Looking with a 8x loup it looks sharp and has depth to the lettering, I see no difference in sharpness to gen tbh with the writing it's just the ring thickness.
on my last pic the difference is obvious .. tc print is wide like two gen print superimposed
but as Turbo said, it's tolerable...

I will look very hard again at some gens, I didn't really see this the last time I looked. I do think the shot below shows perspective and is a reminder of detail size, I' average height (1.8m) and have normal size hands, here is a finger next to the dial of the TC. How much do gen dials sell for BTW ?

I am hoping to buy another gen IWC for my 50th, currently thinking of a rep SD, gen IWC Doppel and a gen one of these, I might add a rep Pam again but fell out with 44mm...

There are a few SD dials around. Just gotta know where to look... More 666 dials than 660 but they can be had for around $300-700 age and condition depending.
i was very lucky.. my 6600 gen dial was purchased as replacement from Rolex Ad in 2011, but never mounted
yes there are more 666 than 6600.. the price is 300-450$

My total build after selling on unused parts as circa $550...... I'll live with minor inaccuracies to be honest, I wouldn't have known if I had simply bought the gen. Indeed I found out something about my IWC only recently regarding dial differences over their production run. I also have a later crown following a service and repair (I dropped it) and later AR glass which I prefer, if there was a fake rattrapante early Doppel, no doubt someone would think it was fake as it's not 'accurate' !
after reading the last 60 or so pages of this thread , is it safe to say that the new version is still not out ?

I was looking to buy one but can't find one . I might buy a seadweller deepsea instead . not sure which version but V7 looks nice , as does the BP .
