Quick review of one from watches 77

High beat quartz ok almost looks 21600 makes me want to try and find an automatic that would fit (sounds like one of those equally difficult and yet pointless tasks I seem to love doing)

Boxset quite incredible really all for £23 delivered

Overall worth it to test the waters before buying a gen in future

I was tinkering getting the artic dial into a metal case mod with an automatic movement but it's gone to the back of the list now (smaller dial on swatch than the larger BP FF rep metal cases meant using a rehault and it didn't quite work) - but the ocean of storms would definitely be worth trying a few different metal cases! will keep an eye out for when they come out....

22mm it is, ordered 3 straps: one for my blue, one for my yellow, and one for the incoming black!

i am still looking for a proper metal case for this. anyone has a good one?
No feedback yet but this is in my basket ... thinking of an NH35 + this dial + new hands - if I could find a blacked out metal case that would be even better - the Seiko mod "55 fathoms" is the closest I can think of so far, would be brill if it had an automatic mech movement, though obviously all that would be retained would be the dial so perhaps a bit much for a simple case swap

That’s the problem
the whole point of the swatch metal mod is to get a cheap cost point. if the only thing you retain is the dial, it becomes too costly for the value

What I am looking for is a case where the original movement could fit as is. And also where the bezel insert has that bulbous look

The ocean of storms rep has come in and is looking good - only thing to note off the bat is that the lume is green (not blue on the gen as I've seen)

I've ordered the first year fifty fathoms case that is nicely bead blasted:

It doesn't have the bubble effect ring unfortunately (only found those in the much too big 44mm case where the dial is too small) but will look out for a replacement ring

I'm going for the NH35 mod but will first see if the movement is a direct swap from the rep case into this one and report back when the parts come in before tearing into it (y)

Can strike this one off the list - the ocean of storms dial diameter I measured as 30.5mm - too big for the 40mm NH35 case I tried by about 0.5mm so not able to fit (and annoyingly too small to fit in for the much larger BP replica case without a chapter ring as I also found) - search continues! Until then I'm going to build a seikomod 55 fathoms with this case and NH35 movement I purchased so not all is lost!

Can’t you sand the inside?
0.5 looks doable

I just got four Blancpain x Swatch watches. Two were 14.8 thick and two were 16.64 thick and were much heavier. Has anyone else had this happen.

Also the thicker watches have a rubber o ring on the case back. The lugs have spring bars instead of pins. The lug holes are not drilled all the thru. The Switch name on the case is much more pronounced.
