Is it still available? I want to order but don't know whether v5 or the new shield. Which is closer to gen?

I just received the V5 Tudor Rose BBBlue version from PureTime, so they are definitely still available. For now that is.

Both are very close to gen, but both have their own flaws, just different ones.

OTB, the shield logo version appears closer to gen visually, but doesn't have a clone of the new Tudor in-house movement, so functionally it is off.

On the other hand, the V5 rose logo version has a clone of the ETA 2824-2 movement, which is the same movement as used in the gen. However, the rose on the dial is missing some detail in the left petals, so it is off visually.

So as I said, neither are perfect, and they both have errors, just different ones. Which error is the deal killer is up to you.

Personally, I went with the V5 rose dial version because it can be made more gen like with the addition of an ETA 2824-2 and a new dial from Helenrou. The HR dial has the rose printed more correctly and is thus closer to gen.

I got the Red BB V5 at the end of December last year. It has the 2824-2 movement that has crapped out on me. Does anyone have an idea where I can get a replacement movement? How difficult is it to replace the movement?

Thanks

I would not go straight to replacing it. My movement stopped after a week of ownership. Finally after a year I got around to sending it for repair. I was expecting to pay for a full service or even replace with a swiss eta. Turned out to be a quick fix which cost very little.

I would send it to a modder to have it looked at and then decide what you want to do.

How do I find a modder that can help me out? I live in CONUS.
Thanks
