Thanks for this review! It would be nice to get a close up comparaison between both pearl/red triangle. It doesn't look as good on the rep...

From a normal distance the pearls looked the same to me, even side by side. But using the macro lens we can see subtle differences. Bezel around the GEN pearl is slightly thicker and shade of red on the triangle may be just a shade brighter compared to the rep. (GEN on the left)

Q: where are the holes for the spring bars located on the rep? I know on the gen they are pretty low. When wearing the strap, it shows lots of case as its wide but perhaps they are "better" located on the rep....

Lug hole position looks the same! (GEN on the left)

Thanks for the kind words everyone, it's my pleasure to contribute! When I started I never imagined owning gens either and now I own a couple. I offset/justify my gen purchases by selling and consolidating parts of my collection that no longer get wrist time. In this way I can spread the investment out over a period of years and enjoy many different pieces along the way. I appreciate reps and gens for different reasons and enjoy owning both!

A great comparison the rep is very close to the gen by the looks of it. I've just ordered the v4 red bezel. Can't wait to receive it. It comes with the leather strap also.

Did by any chance you see if the rep bracelet fits on gen? Or does anyone reading this know?

Great Comparison, I prefer the Rose logo but also prefer the Riveted bracelet. Amazing how good some reps are now. I think the biggest tell on all reps is the feel and function through the crown.

I didn't check this and unfortunately my rep is already sold and on its way to its new owner! The tolerances on the GEN bracelet are noticeably tighter than on the rep. It might not fit!

Where did the rep come from? I was actually going to PM you about a potential sale but....

I was contemplating between buying my first rep; the black bay and the noob sub no date from toro but I think this comparison has helped me decide in buying the black bay! Just curious they've got the A2813 variant as well. Does that movement have bi-directional winding?

Avoid the 2813 version. Wrong stem height, crappy crystal and there are no upgrades available for it. Different case altogether.

Oh I thought they had the same case, bracelet, dial and sapphire crystal; just the movement is different. This is the watch I was talking about. Do correct me if I am wrong.

They do NOT. That one has a mineral crystal, not sapphire. Also a a2813 CAN NOT be used as a replacement for a ETA 2824 (swiss or clone) because it has a different stem height. The movements are not interchangeable - so the cases are totally different.
