Best Meteroite Daytona Kitbash

Hi everybody! Been a hot min since I've been on but had an idea and need some guidance. I wanted to buy a meteorite daytona but now the Gen are officially discontinued . So I figured, why not make a rep one. I decided I did not want a accurate Rep since the Gen are all gold and any rep outside of a remade case would be gold plated steel. I decided I want to use a steel Daytona and add a dial made from real meteorite. Im looking now to see what's the best possible daytona on the market. However, I have zero clue who to turn to for a dial. I reached out Buff (ID: watchbuff) on wechat about 15 days back but received no reply. To be fair, the last update on his moments was Nov 2022 so not sure if something happened to him. I reached out to Peggy aka D.B.F.S aka fashionshine.net as I used them once before to buy a 5711 nautilus with a buff dial. They claim they can build the watch $1800, my only hesitation with them is when I asked for mods to my 5711 they claimed it would be done but when I received the watch it felt more like a dial swap with light mods but nothing to make it more accurate like trimming the crown or thinning the case. At this point any and all help is deeply appreciated as I journey to create the ultimate steel Rep daytona.

Here are my 2 meteorite Daytonas, the first Daytona was built by @Nikz19 and the second was purchased through m2m. The price of meteorite dials vary depending on the manufacturer so best to shop around and examine QC pics ro see which is best for you price/looks wise

Thank you for the gorgeous pictures. I'll reach out to @Nikz19 to see if he is able to build one and I'll keep my fingers crossed someone has one they are willing to part with. That would be the best scenario.

You can either consider and deal with Nikz or monitoring the m2m if a met pops up.
May daytona has a BTF wg-ish base, CF bezel and the custom dial, same as KK-s. Costs should be around 1.5K altogether currently.
The CF GMT is an m2m with oascom dial and xing bezel. Oascom dial nowadays cost 1kUSd if can find any but only for GMT, he doesnt have daytona afaik.

May daytona has a BTF wg-ish base, CF bezel and the custom dial, same as KK-s. Costs should be around 1.5K altogether currently.
The CF GMT is an m2m with oascom dial and xing bezel. Oascom dial nowadays cost 1kUSd if can find any but only for GMT, he doesnt have daytona afaik.

Those Oascom dials are insane, I'd love a GMT build like yours but they are so difficult to find through m2m! Understandably no one wants to sell!

Thank you for the info. I was looking at the daytona models available currently in steel and saw BTW and Clean seem to be the most recomended. Not sure though if the dial will be able to fit them though. Any idea who made your dials? I just want to make sure that if Nikz can't make me one (I hope its not the case) I can at least get a dial made from real meteorite. The GMT is also tempting, I'll see if I can find a Oascom dial as well or someone whos willing to part with their GMT. Thank you

yeah, sadly it was only a limited batch and nowadays literally impossible to find any even through m2m.
Solid meteorite and rocks, shade and layers slightly different than the daytona one

Same here, Right now I think one of the biggest issue is that at least with the GEN dials they are slowly drying up as the source in Africa has declared the meteor a national monument thus no more mining. Not sure where the REP guys are getting their supply from though. Maybe south america?

Have a quick question for you, Any idea what the Oascom dial retailed for? I was offered one $1150 however was offered a daytona dial for 650 euro. Was trying to figure out is the massive jump due to scarcity or did oascom do something different I don't know about. Thank you

That is a nos Noob Daytona. These beauties were sold end of 2022 by puretime.

Thanks for the information. I'm surprised out of the box they are perfect. Did they say it's real meteorite?

Look at the 11 marker on the dial. Depending on light direction the spots change their color. So this should be meteroit.
