Well I wish you the best on all that. It seems that you have the situation under control and it should be no problem When they actually inspect everything.

Thank you Shiny things.

Here are some pics from tonight. I weighed him again tonight and he is just over 40 pounds. It's hard to get an accurate reading because he doesn't want to be held too much.

Michelle is the only one that could pick him up at any time of the day. Once in a while he will let me. Bobcats like I said before are very skinny in the summer. barely eating. But in the winter they gauge themselves with food and actually get quite obese. So far Benji has gained almost 15 pounds this winter.

It's ok, because that's just what bobcats do. It's a natural thing because in the winter food is scarce for them so they eat all they can and bulk up. He will lose all of that extra weight first thing in the spring.

Here are some pics and I've also got a video loading that I'll post later tonight.

This first one you can really see how big he is compared to Buster. Buster is between 85 and 90 pounds.

Here's the latest video of Benji. In the beginning of the vid. he jumps down off the island to go see Tyson, my rottweiler. He immediately turns and sprays Tyson right in the face. Then sprays him again. You see tyson shake his head. Disgusting. I always have to be alert or else I will get it too. Tyson Grooms Benji and then at the end of the video Benji grooms Tyson. I also show my new luminox blackout watch. It's funny how I've started incorporating my watches into my videos of Benji lately. Enjoy.

Can anyone tell me how to make it so the youtube box shows up when I post a link to a video? I tried clicking the youtube icon and putting it around the url of my videos but that doesn't work. Thanks

Thanks Joe. I wish I could turn his sprayer off but that's just part of life with a bob. It doesn't really smell like anything so that is good. When I see him spray I wipe it with paper towel and mr. Clean.

Right click on the video and copy past the URL. That usually works.

Beautiful video. Absolutely heartwarming to such a majestic animal in a domestic setting.

Fascinating. Two animals known to be aggressive, yet they're interacting as family.

Benji's grooming a Rottweiler? Really?

Whether their interaction is natural or uncharacteristically restrained makes no difference to me. Captivating stuff.

Thanks, George.

Thank you MZ.
Thanks Tommy. They love each other. Benji loves every animal in this house. He likes to groom every one of them, The dogs and cats groom him back. The deer is selfish and only likes to receive. lol. But yes, it is natural, although not natural in the real world. It's an unusual situation here. One that you don't see everyday, and actually hardly ever really. I've seen people with a bobcat and dogs before, but never a deer.

Here's the latest from Benji. He is pretty food aggressive but that's par for bobcats. I can sit right next to him and he will grumble, but none of the animals can get near him when he eats. None but Athena my deer. She can be grooming him while he is eating. she usually just lays next to him while he's eating. I know it's ridiculous. A deer with a bobcat and especially while they are eating. I have weird animals.

Well, they are calling for up to 9 inches of snow tonight so we are all keeping warm in the house. even Benji who loves it in the cold and snow. I know he will be out in it tomorrow having a blast and I will be sure to take some videos. Here's a couple pics from tonight. Benji just chillin in the kitchen and then on the couch with Buster and Tyson. the pics on the couch are a good comparison to show his size next to the dogs. Tyson is about 120 pounds now. Buster is around 90, Benji was around 45 the last time I weighed him but I thiink hes' put on a few more. Enjoy

I really like reading these updates! While I know he isn't a pet cat, it amazes me how many mannerisms he shares with my 'domestic cats', or perhaps how many they share with him! In the UK we let our cats come and go as they please (as there are no predators for them to worry about) and I find it fascinating to observe them behaving naturally when they don't know I'm looking.

Your dedication to raising him is really admirable as it shows me just how hard it must be and I know I couldn't do it. Saying that, I'd still love to spend some time getting to know him in real life!

Benji is going to be neutered on Tuesday Feb 4th at 9 a.m. Please keep him in your thoughts. As a lot of you know I've been fighting against having him fixed because of the stroke that he had a birth I feel he is more at risk to not waking up to the anesthetic. Bobcats have a hard time waking up from anesthetic anyway without a history of health problems. I'm trying to keep positive. The surgery itself is only a 7 minute procedure. Thanks guys for all your kind comments about Benji. I will keep an update here Tuesday afterwards. Going to also film if the vet will let me.
