Australia Post has lost my watch :(

My watch left narikaa on the 9th of September and arrived into the Australian distribution centre on the 14th and to be delivered on that day. It never arrived.

So far, I have made numerous trips and phone calls to the post office to no avail. I am now waiting for Reg to initiate an investigation on his side so Thaipost and Auspost can search for it.

This is the thing I've bought online that has gone missing and I acknowledge that it is not the fault of Reg.

There are thieves in Australia Post. They have lost a number of my parcels, one being 15kg in weight, a bit hard to misplace.

It will probably turn up in a weekend market somewhere. Tends to be an increase in 'missing' parcels the closer we get to Christmas.

If any of the paperwork mentioned the word "watch", you can just about guarantee some sticky fingers went searching.

And if they found something that looked good and "expensive" it will certainly have gone missing.

One consolation is that AP do front up pretty regularly with compensation, although in this case it will be on Thai Post as the sender.
I hope it was insured, or at least was trackable.

Normally you still get your parcel...just empty!

I've never had a problem with AusPost and have sent a bucketload of watches all over the world (and received them).

They're usually very helpful with tracking etc too.

Oh I rarely have an issue with them losing stuff but they are a pack of overpriced thieving asshats! The cost of posting anything out of this country is utter bullshit and it's going up again in at the end of the month.

Yup, 5% rise at the end of the month as well as the fact that from now on there are only 500grm steps instead of 250grm which will put costs up even more in a lot of cases.

I agree 100% there, it's especially grating when compared to the prices of shipping say for our US friends. Something that's costing about $50 for them is close to $90 for us.

I think that would be the case. The watch was registered but the Auspost tracking is absolute crap, on the website it says "product not trackable" wtf?

I call them up and they find it arrived into Leightonfield PDC on the 14th. How come I can't see that?

That being said, it was probably the postie who stole the watch. It was meant to go out that day and on that same day, some items arrived from Hong Kong which were received (he left me a card) but not my watch.

Man, I miss having a relationship like that with my delivery guy... I'm in a complex now, and I'm much more nervous about receiving parcels at home... I get them sent to the office now.

If you ask the people behind the counter whether an item of registered mail is trackable they will happily tell you that it is not trackable on the public website but they can track it internally, down to (in one case for me) when it left a plane in Singapore.

In the end, I guess if you have enough packages coming and going the odds are you will lose one eventually.

I have enough coming and going that I lose 1 or more every month.
We currently have 5 claims lodged with AP for lost items!
AND I am paying an absolute premium for this rubbish service.

Same here in the uk, had a strap arrive from singapore today (unrecorded),cost on parcel was $1.45 (singapore dollars) = 72p bloody unreal, cost me today to send something back to singapore £3.30, seems like were being ripped off here,i feel bad when i sell stuff to overseas buyers and tell them that recorded can be £7-8, i hate sending unrecorded but its really the only option unless its an expensive piece of course.
