Time for a Melbourne meet? Imagine the onlookers when we all happily shake hands then proceed through the ritual ooooh's and aaaaah's at looking at each other's wrists

:D

Happy to organise something if there's enough interest - but be advised ..... I will need help (something which was unnecessary to point out according to my wife)

Hey guys, new around here. I'm Rich, and I'm from Adelaide.

Looking at getting some PAM replicas to try out before purchasing the real deal, would like something as close to genuine as possible to aide in my decision.

Anyone care to point me in the direction of a reputable dealer who does shipping well to Australia? Wading through the Dealer section, but I would certainly appreciate some insight from those of you who have purchased through them in the past.

Cheers!

Any of them on the list are good.
These are my experiences so far:
Best dealings have been with:
* Trustytime (.com). But he ain't a trusted dealer here, not sure why.
* Toro sent a good Breitling Montbrillant, and a cheap spare parts Noob Rolex sub.

Middling dealings:
* I did get a good Pam 292 from Tony at Asian 7750, but his Breitling Montbrillant wasn't a good one and his 237 was DOA auto winder.

Bad dealings:
* Silix sent an awful Breitling Chronomat bracelet, suspect they took advantage of me just ordering parts, it was truly crap. Chewed up screw heads, poor finish.
* Puretime sent another crap Chronomat bracelet, screw heads had been polished off..... Think I was taken advantage of again with a 'reject' bracelet.
* Timesshops. Never, ever, again. They advertise something is in stock, which it isn't, then if you change your mind they try to hit you with a re-stocking fee when you change to another product. Why? Because they had to order it in. Why not just say they have to order it in the first place? Nightmare to deal with, IMO.

But others might have the complete opposite to say.

Welcome and good luck finding a watchmaker. Ask wat44, I think he may know of someone down your way.

Sydneysider here :)

As for watchsmiths, I've uesd a guy in the city who's happy to work on Reps. Little Korean dude on Pitt St., George Yoon or Yuen. Had problems with my Asian movement DSN 202a and he sorted it out. My friend just took his DOA Noob PAM 104 there for a strip down service- $50. Will have to see if it's actually any good afterwards but so far I've got no qualms.

Hi guys, here are the watchsmith's details:

George Yoon
Suite 502 250 Pitt St., Sydney NSW 2000
Tel: 9267 3536- his English is heavily accented and sometimes, I struggle to udnerstand him on the phone. Best to rock up and show him your watch and have a chat.

He's in a building on Pitt St., next to Hungry Jacks and Maccas. Opposite Galleries Victoria/Arthouse. There are actually a few watchsmiths in that building but the other 2 I spoke to weren't interested in my Asian movement.
