Personally prefer no rehaut engravings.

I second this, I have the ARF 16610 with no engravings and it looks great, I also have a BP 16610 with them and they aren't centered with the indices like on a VSF 116610... It really isn't that big of a deal, but I'm extremely OCD and the off center engravings bug me even though you can't see them unless closely inspecting.

I've been looking at the kermit between BP and ARF but both have major flaws I can't overlook.

BP
- ft font is wrong
- hand set is wrong, maxi hand set
- case chamfer a bit enthusiastic

ARF
- hand lume is BRIGHT white, like crazy white, I can overlook everything else but I can't overlook this

With that said, is there no compromise between the two? I see here people have been trying to swap out AliX handsets but I've looked and I can't see it. The only option is a relume job by a modder which is kind of out of my books right now (Asia has no reluming service like that, and they won't do it for replicas).

The last resort I see is getting someone to sell me their TC.....

I heard JF is also a good option and their handset is ok but JF is long gone....

Will somebody help a poor Kermit lover out here?

I'm not super expert on 5 digit so I take your assumption correctly, I was looking purely at Mk1/2/3/4 dial face from the Submariner Guide




I could overlook most of BP's flaws but I just think the overall combination is too weak, I want a no rehaut variant, BP only offers rehaut, the maxi handset is wrong, the dial is not the variation I want, etc

Yes.... I'm leaning towards getting the BP on price and just enjoying it best as I can

I was going to post WTB for TC, but what I've noticed is that most TC models are always modified with gen parts pushing the price above 4 figures which is too much for my taste regarding a 5 digit Submariner

Replace the ARF hands with other hands, or relume;;; BK

Funny you tagged me, I was reading that thread, but it comes with a whole boat load of issues as well , scallops, lugs, SH movement, left justified date, poor bezel action + bezel gap

I think I may get a BP and try to source BP hands from somewhere, or an ARF LN and replace the insert with a LV horologear and enjoy the fantasy replica/watch, gen owners do it all the time anyways

I've seen a few BP subs with the engravings sanded down.

For hands you could check out Sillan.

Silian LV hands are alright, same lume thing as mentioned before.

But I like them and use their LN hands for plenty of builds

I had an LN BP and the build quality was impressive for the price. Just wasn’t a fan of the bezel construction. But a great watch ootb.
