Silvester are you sure it's a V1 I didn't think puretime would send a V1 if we ordered a V2, especially considering I must've ordered at least 10x from them in the past... But, then again the reason I asked was because I had heard many V1's had the rehaut alignment problem and this made me suspicious.

What other signs are there that indicate this is a v1?

I'm asking so that I can know what to look for during the next QC.

It could be v2... let me explain.

V1 = V1
V2 =updated datewheel (check the 28) + new style rotor
V2.1 / V3 = updated bezel teeth

I think you are looking for the updated bezel version?

I'm also pissed that they are asking me to take a watch with +/- 8.2 sec per day error.

They said they could adjust it, but will that really make much of a difference?

I have bought 6 or 7 watches from puretime in the past. This is the first time I've really recieved poor service from them. Should I open a help desk ticket?

I would much more focus on the amplitude (AMP) shown. The higher the better - I usually look for more than 285.
Regulating these is extremely easy as ETA has a screw so all you do is turn left or right. Accuracy can be measured with free software for regulating watches available for any Android phone or iPhone.
I got watches showing +2, but when they arrived, they usually ran at more than +5s/day and I managed to get them down to less than +1s/day.

Puretime is refusing to let me ask for another watch.

They said that all of their watches and these watches have misaligned rehaut.

Has this been the case with other buyers?

I didn't know this was a common issue.

This is a minor flaw. The updated bezel version I just received is this way. As well as the previous version I had. It’s a minor adjustment of the movement to align it correctly.

With the recent sub frenzy I imagine this model is not a priority for them at the moment. More demand for the sub models. Also the movement running +/- 8.2 sec is not that bad for an Asian movement. Minor adjustment as well.

The amplitude on this particular watch was 271°

I'll probably need to ask for another watch or request a refund.

Does anyone know if the refund process has been easier now that they are accepting payments in crypto?

It's a shame that puretime isn't as service oriented as they use to be. I guess they are just getting too many orders to care about each customer these days..

+/- 15 sec/day is the window for a genuine ETA elabore 2428 - just for some perspective here.

FYI it's more of the I willingness to change the watch when asked that bothers me more than anything.

The QC process is designed for us to review a particular watch and let them know of we accept it or not. I had an issue with one particular flaw, and instead of telling me, ok well change it, the attitude was more like this is the only one you get to look at, or you have to change the watch for something else.

Once I got that comment, I was immediately turned off by this particular watch... I guess I'm looking for a reason not to love it. But jeez if they don't want to do QC then don't offer it.

If they're just going to complain, then what's the point?

Sure - but you have no grounds not accepting a watch because it's 8 sec a day out.

You must not have followed the post from the beginning, so I'll give you a pass for telling me what I don't have grounds to do with my money.

But the original comment was there is a cosmetic defect with the watch, which they refused to acknowledge and eventually led to my higher scrutiny of other possible shortcomings in the watch..

The point of QC is for us to let our trusted dealers know what we don't accept, then enter a dialog about whether or not there can be anything done to align on the next best actions. Not for them for them to say here's a watch you're going to get what we give you. Otherwise what's the point of QC?
