ARF Bracelet modded to Noob Endlink.

So Longwood, I did another bracelet today and I wanted to let you know about some things I did. I had previously used a deremel with a 600 grit sanding wheel that was too fast. I decided to try a variable speed drill and with a much slower RPM I was able to use the sanding wheel. With some practice, it's pretty easy to roll the SEL across the moving wheel and take it down much faster.

I also found that using a small stout stick was great for precision rounding and tidying up any minor dips.

Pretty happy with the results, guess I need to do a band with PCLs next.

kj2020 nice work man...but that gap..under that bezel..looks extreme...could you have done the same thing by using that tool to pull apart the links below..btw both you and longwood have great ideas on working on the SEL's man

You're right about the gap under the bezel. I need to pay more attention to that. I barely touched the SEL center link though so that's pretty much what I started with in the middle. The only thing I did with the center was clean it up from stray sanding marks after doing the outer SEL links. This bracelet did not come with the watch so that was part of the issue. Thanks for pointing that out, I needed to see that before doing more!

Yes they cost around 165.00 but keep in mind it won’t fit anything other than a gen Daytona, a arf Daytona and it will fit other Daytona’s but may have gaps. It will not go into a noob Daytona without major sel gap.

I have this idea which may be either brilliant or a huge fail. Why not loop some sturdy flat nylon rope (like flower ribbon) inside the gaps between the SEL bracelet link, attached each side to a regular vase, and then just slowly pull the fixed links apart? Could potentially save the $400 for a bracelet puller.

You mean a vice, right? Theoretically it sounds plausible. It would be tricky getting pieces situated to make the pull. Probably not something I would attempt but I'm always open to DIY alternatives. Give it a whirl and let us know!

Haha, I missed that. Take pictures so we can duplicate if successful. Wear eye protection and watch out for flying links!

Guys I found a much cheaper dyi. I used these reverse snap ring pliers. Tried it on my jubilee bracelet. Just insert the tips between the gaps, and press. The reverse plier forces the fixed links apart, no damage.

i used a rubber hammer to press the links back together.

Looks interesting. Are the tips metal? I guess I could tape them up or find a small insulative cap to fit on them. I don't like the idea of metal on metal.

Yes tips are metal. I was afraid it would slip at first too, but suprisingly very snug grip.

I suppose you can strip some wire and use the sleeve for protection.
