I am planning on buying the blue dial version from ARF and wanted to hear some opinions with respect to swapping out the crystal for a gen? Would be good to hear from people who have done this and if it was worth it. I'll definitely be swapping out the DW to get it close to a superep.

I just got my gen dial. There isn’t that much difference to be honest. I’m pretty impressed by the stock silver ARF dial. What’s even more impressive is that the ARF has a Rolex stamp and code on the back. This is some crazy attention to detail.

on another note do you think anyone would be interested in a dj 41 if I mod it? I’d be happy to buy a dj 41, mod it, and put it for sale (no profit).

eBay. It’s not that cheap for the silver dial (you can get it for 400 buy it now).

Yea looks like i definitely installed the gen crystal. It just doesn't seem like a dramatic difference. I guess I expected a bit more

I am currently in the same position as to whether I should swap the crystal for gen. Do you have any before and after pics?

Longtime lurker - first time poster. Apologies in advance for my n00bdom - hopefully I've got this format right. 2 quick QC questions on a datejust 41:

1) does the face on this look flat? I realize I can't expect gen quality...but the blue seems a bit more muted than what I'd expect
2) any idea what this greenish gunk is near the crown? see third link below

I would accept it. That greenish gunk is just protective tape, easy to remove.

Ah - you're right. It looked like a blemish..but you're right, it's just dirty plastic.

The face doesn't look muted to you? Or maybe what you're suggesting is that this issue won't vary or improve much from piece to piece.

Yes, I put in a genuine Hamilton 2824. Fit perfectly.

Has anyone had their ARF datejust water pressure tested? I’d love for mine to be waterproof and not have to worry. My TD said it is rated to 50m from factory but still not recommended to swim , shower in it etc. Is it worth getting it independently tested?

I wash it with soapy water and shower with it... btw i have it 2 months from now and im very very satisfied,looks amazing,winding is so smooth event the manual wind is smooth,movement is very smooth and watshmith checked it and told me that movement is amazing and very well made,lubricated rotor and regualated accuracy and it lost 2 seconds per day which is amazing...do not think about it it is best dj41 after gen...

Wow you are brave to do that with no checking locally. I wouldn't risk it !
