I think that in Asian markets the Code 11.59 is more desidered that in EU or US...just my impression. There must be a market for this one now or why would the bother, doesn't it always come down to what the biggest market wants? Otherwise we would see reps of the Omega's etc that people have been requesting for ages. The embossed dial sets it off nicely but is the crystal replicated accurately as I thought that is a big part of it.
I am ordering one and will post QC when I get the photosI hear that but the embossed dial is a nice touch, but the big question is whether APSF nailed the crystal replication since that's such a defining feature of the Code 11.59.
AP is still trying to shove the code 11.59s down the clientele’s collective throats even today, and pushing it as the flagship model line, with words like “revolutionary”, “exquisite craftsmanship” and most importantly “in short buy this first if you ever hope to get a Royal Oak at retail you bitch”
Well barring the top of the line models like the star wheel model and the tourbillons, the rest of the run of the mill models have really been meh for me, and I’ve sold the ones I owned as soon as the resale prohibition period ended.
I tried to like them and connect with them but I can’t get past the fact that the AP DNA seems to be deeply buried in the code 11.59s and subtly exhibited, rather than put on display to create desire and excitement.
So be it rep or gen, it’s a pass for me. I’ll leave it to someone who can appreciate the details and craftsmanship better.
I’ve said this before and I still mean it:
It’s a watch which is appreciated far better off the wrist than on it. Yes the details are impressive but none of it translates to actual desire on the wrist for me.
Thanks for sharing. Does this have the clone movement or just a Miyota or something? So APSF has launched a few models of the Code 1159 with lacquered dials.
Hope APSF will release more dial varieties such as the embossed, smoked and gradient types soon.
Well, a small relatively unknown factory 3G has already released the Code 1159 with the embossed dial. The dial looks good but the case construction is not accurate. Here are some pictures of the green dial.
