APPF =/= APSF

We're all holding our breath for the SH4401 super clone movement

16.5mm thickness for APPF Chrono vs 11 mm thickness of the non Chrono APSF version .

Gen is clocking in at a rather skimpy 10.7mm in thickness, and the chronograph models are admirably under 13mm thick at 12.6mm .

I’m very tempted by the non Chrono. But I just can’t so far get behind anything that has the a7750 movement in it in my little rep hobby.

The non Chrono has a Clone AP 4302 movement....is it reliable ? 🤔

The Chrono has the A7750 with some fragility as it is well knmow...but what about the Clone 4302 ?

I have two Royal Oaks with the clone 4302 for more than a year and these have been rock solid. Of course, I have these serviced on day 1.

I believe servicing makes a great difference for such custom build movement unlike an ebauche such as Miyota.

Services directly from the TD?

Hard to determine but here is some pictures.... apparently APSF did do the crystal per gen spec but we all know how rep marketing can be

I'm not really a 11.59 expert....

Not going to lie... if someone can confirm that the crystal is per gen spec or at least close to the shape, I will probably end up getting one. I love quirky shit like that.

Here's some videos to help as well

Got the watch in. Compared to gen dial below. Overall thoughts - an excellent rep, but the leather strap must be replaced. Taking the strap out and reinstalling is actually harder than it seems, and not for the impatient. Apparently the same as gen.

Crystal is gen spec (which is wild because it was thought this couldn't be replicated).

On the wrist, 6.75" wrist for reference. Cannot take 'straight on shots' in daylight as the crystal is not only domed, but has those weird layers in it as well.

Disassembled the case so I could gold plate it:

Genuine dial on left, with the scuffs (which I didn't KNOW ABOUT on the eBay listing). I wound up not installing it, but my conclusion is that gen dial isn't necessary in blue at least. The pictures look like the dials are a different color, but in ALL lighting conditions the dial was the same exact color and hue. The color difference is due to the dials not being at the same exact angle to the lighting source.

Overall conclusion:

Execution as a rep: 9/10, very minimal notes here. Gen dial would have fit without issue. Crystal and case construction very similar to gen. Leather strap must be replaced.

Leather strap must be replaced.

Spectacular. Eager for APSF to release the chronos and embossed dials, as well.
