Where I need to be.
Hello,

@legend thank you for creating this post.
I would like to make you two questions.

In the very beginning you mention:

1. Out of those, which one would you recommend if considering white dial?

2. If considering the model 15500, what are the main differences between the APSF and ZF besides the watches thickness?

Thank you.
If it’s the silver dial go for the APSF 15400 v3.

The main difference between the APSF and ZF 15500s are the dial primarily. And APSF has the better case and bracelet finish from the batches I encountered. This could have changed since my last assessment of this detail during their earlier batches.

@legend thanks a lot for your input :)
The main differences between the two models 15400 and 15500 are the "automatic" label on the dial, the date position, watch thickness and the instant date change function? Is there any relevant difference to consider? (ignoring the movement of course)

They are just different Royal oak models and one is not better than the other. It’s largely a matter of preference when it comes to choosing either.

FYI you can get the 15400 fitted with the instant date change clone 3120 movement now.

@legend yes I understand. In visual aspects I prefer the 15500, but I went to compare both and the differences in the silver dial are notable.
Hard decisions ehehe :)

@legend I'm sorry just one more question, I have a really thin wrist. For example I can wear a Rolex Submariner 116610 but I can't wear a 1680.
AP 15400 or 15500 is suitable for thin wrists? I'm talking of a wrist with 15cm/16cm. I never tried a Royal Oak before

I think others would consider them too big on your wrist. However, as @legend mentioned, your feelings matter not others.

Look up WatchBox on Youtube. First look at his videos on watches you DO have to see his wrist vs your wrist. Then look at the watch you want. Compare and see.

My opinion is to steer clear of the 41mm Royal Oaks if your wrist is under 17cm. The 15500 is massive and wears like a 43mm.

Thank you for all of yours answer. Nice to know that the 15500 feels like a 43mm.
My main concern is about the bracelet adjustment and the removable links.
For example if I remove all possible links from the Submariner 1680, the bracelet is still too large for me.
That will not be a problem?

Removing all (or all but one) removable links made my 41 mm ROs fit my 16ish wrist.

I'm not one to put you down but my 1665 which is essentially the same as the 1680 i still had 3 links left to remove and a whole clasp and it wore well on my wrist, but when I tried the 15500 it basically made me look like a kid wearing my dad's watch

Hi @legend , what mean that 15400 can have instant data change? Is there a new release or it needs a modding? Thanks

It is simply a modified 3120 caliber which is available now and hardly advertised. It exists for sure, I have handled and worked on a few. Some components of said movement are also better compared with the stock clone 3120 caliber.

Do you think that instant data change is available only with an aftermarket mod or TD will release a new version with this feature soon? Thanks!

Well actually it doesn’t really matter whom it is from, the key point is that it has been assessed to be working and reliable. Buying it from a TD would not make it magically better, and buying it from someone else won’t mean that you get scammed automatically. A lot of parts and watches aren’t available from the TDs now, in fact I would quantify that to be more than 50% of all custom and replica watches available today.
To answer you directly I do not know if the TD will release it soon sir. No matter whom you buy it from, caveat emptor should apply.

The gen has an instant date change. The APSF movement comes with the clone 3120 caliber.

@legend Have you handled the custom 5402 case sets at all? I think we are entering a new era of replicas don’t you think so?
