The LBJ is definitely a nice piece and a good build but definitely not toned down in any way haha. The Gold is loud itself and the grey which is quite bright even brightens it more so definitely nothing toned down about that. If it had a few dark colours like black somewhere then maybe you could say that but not for the LBJ. It is loud and only for certain people who don't mind loud....
the LBJ bezel is made out of steel? bc on the qc pics it seems like steel..

Cermet is better than Ti. So the rep bezel is better than the Gen. That is why no one cares.
As for colour, the Schumi proves that the bezel can be made in a darker colour. Not sure whether the lighter colour used in the LBJ more closely matches the gen colour but I assume this will be the case. We wont know for certain until people start getting their watches as pics are generally awful at colour matching reflective metal objects.

to me, it seems like steel...
I'm in doubt that the factory will invest so much time to achieve the right cermet colour... while steel is close enough in colour at first place.
if it's not cermet tho, it's hard to justify the higher price in respect to schumi...
I guess we'll know for sure when it'll arrive to my door step and compare it with my steel AP's

Once you receive it how will you be able to tell if it is cermet or steel?

Well the factories did take a long time with the LBJ. Also Im sure if they describe it as Cermet it will be Cermet.
The best way to tell will be to try and scratch it. The Cermet will be much more resistant than a SS bezel. However, Im sure no one is going to want to test that. The other way is to wait a few months after people have experienced general wear and tear. The cermet bezel should look new whilst a SS bezel will have marks from usage.

actually the cartel published that watch as having a Ti bezel..nothing mentioned about cermet regarding the LBJ there…
I'll remove the bezel and try to scratch it on the backside.
My schumi got some serious hits on the bezel and didn't got scratched at all, while my 15400 looks all scratched up by usual everyday wear. that's why it's really important for me having a cermet on the LBJ.. true to Gen or not...

just got QC pics on my LBJ so off it goes- based on USPS and Christmas, even with Ken- probably 7-8 days- usually 4-5 from QC to here from him.
so far the only celebrity LE I remotely like is the schumi. And even that is a SERIOUS acquired taste. I have no idea why people think sports stars and rappers are able to design aesthetically pleasing watches. I'd also never buy a gen celebrity LE. If I'm gonna spend that much on a watch I don't want someone else's name on it.
im torn i ordered the Shumi gold i like LBJ look but the bling on the pusher throwing me off and also the quality is not as good as the Shumi as far as i can tell from dealer picks my Shumi from J12 is simply amazing except the fact of the gray colors blend together too much IMO hopefully the gold Shumi works better
Had a TD state to me that they fely the Lebron was better quality the the Rg Schumi....I don't think it was a sales tactic because I bought both anyway...We will see when they are in hand...
LBJ quality feels similar with Ti Schumi at least... Been wearing mine for the past 3 days, but still hasn't grown on me. Will see how the RG Schumi fares when it arrives tomorrow.
