I know AP rubber straps are boring and subpar, design wise ,but why degrade the watch with that abomination.

I'm only trying to get a leather strap for it, degrading it or not depends if it's the right choice of strap. I have seen a member here posting his schumi with the gp strap on before and it looked good to me. Cheers for your opinion anyway.

If you look more closely at the lugs, the strap doesn't fit properly.

That strap you linked above, is GP style, but just for regular 42 case Roos...
Your Schumi case is larger - you need 44mm case straps.
You can get any of these, for 44 cases:

Or Rep Grand Prix straps (what was pictured/you liked) or Gen Grand Prix straps (again what was pictured) - I forget if it was rep or gen.

^^ There's your answer Soul2Soul, SMP Lover's straps are wayyy better than AP Bands. Go that route, without a doubt!!

APBands straps are inconsistent in quality and fitment, and recent experience with their service attitude leaves A LOT to be desired. Prices are unjustifiably high too.
SMPLover, on the other hand, understands both strap quality and customer service.

+1 for SMPLover, AP Bands sucks.

Ap Bands just had a sale on their 44mm straps, but, yes, even with price discount, they are expensive. The one AP Bands strap that might be interesting is the charcoal grey 44mm one. The darker grey on the strap might give the optical illusion that the Schumi dial is lighter grey than it really is.
